Impressive church

Well worth walking up the 199 steps to see. It's a truly, lovely church. There's fantastic views from the churchyard across the Harbour.

With it's triple level pulpit and old wooden enclosed pews, this is by far the most unusual chuch I have ever seen. It's quirky and peaceful, really quaint. If you've made it up the 199 steps then please make the effort to visit this church. There is a small gift shop in the entrance and you can even go in... More

This is an amazing church. Apart from the triple level pulpit there are ground and upper level pews. The church is at the top of the 199 steps from the town but it's easier to visit while you are at the abbey.

The church is situated up the 199 steps and has a great view of Whitby and the countryside. Inside it seems very old with wooden pews, some bought by the gentry and others free. Little gift shop inside. Lovely to wander around. Well worth a visit.

Worth a visit just for the view of Whitby alone. I wouldn't usually go and visit a church on a family day out. However, I found this church very interesting and full of history. Even the kids enjoyed it. Have a wander through the graveyard too, as this is also interesting.

The church as at the top of the 199 steps, its well worth the trip up for the views alone. I'm not religious but always love looking in old churches, the war memorial in he church is beautiful and a touching tribute.

Interesting church and grounds. Remains a functioning church. Small gift shop inside. Magnificent views of the harbour, sea and Whitby. Also 2 pirate graves marked with skull and cross bones. Brilliant.
