Lovely Setting and Food
Sep 2021 • Couples
My husband and I stopped off here, en route to Skipton, for lunch. It was clear to see they were short staffed, however this did not affect the service we received. We had to wait five minutes or so for a free table. The lady who served us was very nice and brought us our food fairly quickly. She asked if we would like our hot drinks right away or with our food, which a lot of places don’t do. I know there have been many negative reviews and I can’t speak for others, but we found the staff members very nice and the food was tasty.

Visited on a hot day, were placed by window with lovely breeze. Waitress really friendly and warm, very welcoming. Food was delicious, even though partner's main was huge! Impressed he managed most of it.

Our experience was nothing less than perfect. The Brasserie is a wonderful venue, amazing comfy seats, lovely ambience and fantastic service with a smile. Recommended.

Unwelcoming
Sep 2021 • Couples
Went in for some food and wanted to sit outside as it was a beautiful day was told they only do takeaway sandwiches and coffee outside so we decided to sit inside. Got to the table to find they pretty much only go sandwiches anyway. After a while the waiter came over my partner asked for a bacon and egg sandwhich they have BLT on the menu and egg elsewhere however refused to make the sandwich. Staff where unwelcoming and didn’t speak to us when leaving the coffee we ordered after this.

Rude , Horrible staff / owner .
Aug 2021 • Couples
Unbelievably rude and ignorant man fronting the restaurant upstairs . We visited this place whilst on our way to the Ingleton waterfalls walk, thought we would stop and have a cup of coffee to break up the journey. We browsed the shop Downstairs and we were startled to say the least at the prices , however we were quiet all the while and respectful of the environment around us . Once we reached the cafe area upstairs we were rudely spoken to by a male member of staff , both my mum in her 60’s And my sister in her late 40’s were shocked at the mans attitude and unprovoked outburst , my only regret is not having put him straight but I was fixed in having a ‘nice’ day out with my family . One can only assume That this horrible man is the boss ? As I know not of any company / business who would deem this behaviour acceptable , we didn’t have a coffee , we turned away and left , quietly and decently . Avoid this horrible man at all cost , don’t let him ruin your day .

Unprofessional staff
Aug 2021
I’m reluctant to give them 1star, only because I had too. I’m basing this on the horrible lady front of house who’s professionalism and mannerisms are a long way off being desired. Very rude, arrogant with no empathy. We won’t be returning here, instead will probably venture into settle although slightly off the beaten track

Disgusted
Jul 2021 • Family
Family of 5 come in, hoping to get some brunch to fill our appetites before camping. The woman who spoke to us instantly said that we need to wear face coverings but said it aggressively, then after we obliged, she asked ‘table for two?’ When there was 5 of us. Confused, then noticed it’s because the two adults of the family are different coloured skins, so she instantly presumed we were separated. This is a wrong presumption that she made and no one should make as it is stereotyping and dividing us into two different families due to the colour of our skin. Thanks for this lovely experience and first impression. Shows how blind this world is.

Quick pitstop
Jul 2021
Originally my wife and I hadn't planned on stopping anywhere on the way home, but the traffic was terrible along the A65 with still at least an hour home, so we decided to stop for something to eat.
The food was excellent, though service was a little slow. We were told this was due to staff shortages, so we didn't mind in the slightest.
A great little place to stop for lunch.

Good coffee but not clean.
Jun 2021 • Couples
We called in to the Coartyard on our way to Silverdale. First impressions from the outside were good. It’s a very attractive barn conversion with a furniture shop included. You need to be very wealthy to shop there but it is attractively laid out.
We were escorted to a table by a visored waiter. The table was greasy and had sugar scattered about. We asked the waiter to clean it which he did with what looked like a dishcloth, no spray and it was a very brief wipe. There were also crumbs on the floor around the table. A chaotic looking kitchen and the whole place smelt greasy. This was at about 11.00am so no time for it to get into this condition. The coffee was good, hot and strong, as we like it. The toilets were just about clean. The sinks needed a good scrub. Will we return, not likely. There are far better options further down the road.

Over priced
May 2021 • Couples
Lovely setting, great conversion of old farm buildings and was attracted to shop there by the 'shop local' sign outside BUT you'd need a mortgage to shop here. Lovely handmade furniture but at over £400 for a small side table and nearly £5k for a dresser it's silly money. We hoped for small craft shop or local foods but nothing like that- niche clothes and furniture with expensive cafe / bistro. Disappointed stop off !

Just ok
Apr 2021 • Couples
Called in for breakfast on our way to Cumbria. Husband’s bacon, egg and sausage sandwich was fine apart from fatty edge of bacon being undercooked, french toast with bacon just ok, slightly undercooked in the middle and bacon was bits of what I think should have been streaky bacon. Coffee really nice but can’t say we’ll visit again.
