Lovely church in beautiful village
Jul 2021 • Family
Lovely church in spacious grounds with nicely placed headstones in well kept grounds. Food box for people to donate or help themselves to, which I thought was a caring gesture for the community.

Small town parish
Apr 2021
Attractive church on the road out of town. Church as a very large attractive stained glass window above the alter. A very ornate christening font is one of the church main features. Very pleasant grounds.

Worth calling in to have a look round.
May 2019 • Couples
It is worth picking up a leaflet which gives information about the Church and items in it. It was completed in 1838 but changes have been made to the interior. There are a lot of interesting things to have a browse around. There are various stained glass windows with information about who they are dedicated to. A large painting called The Ascension is facing the altar with ceramic Stations of the Cross around the Church and there is also a Lady Chapel. The lovely pulpit and font are made of Alabaster and there is a large brass eagle lectern. A memorial in the porch is to the workmen who died building the Settle to Carlisle Railway.

contemplation or coffee
May 2018 • Couples
A place to pop into for quiet contemplation or merely to look round around at an attractive 19th century Anglican church. On Tuesdays it's busy from 12-2 with people coming in for coffee and snacks, so try it if you are a visitor to the town and you may strike up some interesting conversation over coffee and carrot cake.

Well Maintained
Oct 2017 • Couples
The outside of the Church and the grounds are in in very good condition - on the day of the visit the gardener was cutting the grass and doing some weeding. The interior was met with a strong, good looking door and it felt light and airy inside. The font was well kept and the stain glass windows let the light flood in, shinning on the church organ. There was also a memorial to the people who died working on the Settle to Carlisle railway.

Beautiful church
Sep 2016 • Solo
Interesting to read the literature of the church which tells you about 2 tombstones- one in Welsh and another of a Blacksmith's family. Neither of which I would have seen without reading the leaflet.

Beautiful little Church
Jul 2016 • Couples
Dating from the 1800s, and with some unusual features and a great organ. The Font and Pulpit are made from marble, and the stations of the cross are ceramic, it also has a wooden lectern besides the Brass eagle. It has a war memorial on the South wall with a book of remembrance. The graveyard is very well kept and the Blacksmiths headstone is very poetic.
