Have been planning to visit for ages - gorgeous little garden, next to the Catholic cathedral just off the inner ring road. Well planted, very peaceful. Places to sit. £2 entry via an honesty box. Good for 45-60 mins stroll.

Situated outside the main ring road in Norwich, it can be a bit of a hike to get to this little gem, but it's well worth the effort if you're into quirky and peaceful. The garden has been built into a disused quarry and the garden - while small - has plenty of interest. Not very good for anyone with... More

This is a sunken garden that has a shape like an abandoned quarry but planting that is both eclectic and formal in different areas. It's sandwiched between some old villa-style houses near the Roman Catholic Cathedral, and might remain unnoticed from a passing car but make the effort. We first saw it many years ago when some volunteers had the... More

We first visited this beautiful garden quite a few years ago when there were many areas still to be rediscovered. On our latest visit we were very impressed by the amount of refurbishment work which had now been completed since that time. The garden itself extends to nearly 3 acres & has a magnificent gothic fountain as well as many... More

We spent two hours here, this afternoon. We received a warm and helpful welcome from a volunteer at the entrance. There is a £2 donation per person. The garden unfolds after the entrance, and it is a surprise to see such a beautiful garden in a city. We had a nice wander around, so there is scope for exploring. We... More

A surprise gem in Norwich City. Worth spending an hour relaxing in tranquil surroundings where you can enjoy: an impressive Gothic style fountain; many different planted areas (with some plants for sale at the garden entrance/exit); a grassed area and seats for taking a break. There are many steps so it would present difficulties for anyone with mobility problems to... More

The plantation garden is a gem in the heart of Norwich. It's so quiet, peaceful and well looked after. Great photography spot, too!

This is a lovely little escape from the daily retrace. Such a peaceful beauty spot offering tranquility and beautiful sights with eclectic and eccentric masonry adds to the overall charm and history of the garden. A unique attraction and worth every penny of the honesty box request. Fantastic to find somewhere like this in a city even a city as... More
