This was such a delight in as much that you felt it was a home . The rooms were not cold like so many grand houses but cosy and warm. You could easily imagine people living here unlike some of the grand houses. The walled...More

I've only given this 4 rather than 5 stars because it is closed on Thursday and Friday each week which is rather odd and means that if you are not organised enough you could miss out. Well worth a visit.

This is a National Trust property and although it was very nice I felt that it could do with some loving care. Not upto the normal standard of National Trust. However, the gardens and the grounds were lovely.

It is always a delight to visit this beautiful NT property. There is something for almost everyone; lovely walks around the estate and lake, stunning walled garden, and obviously the well maintained, interesting hall itself. Cannot fail to be a winner for NT members and...More

Arrived on 'Plant Day'. Car park was packed. Stalls everywhere appearing to be doing a roaring trade. Colder inside the house than it was outside. But the staff put on a brave face and were very knowledgeable. Never had a chance to view the gardens...More

Hi Dawn. This will depend on how long you wish to spend in the house and gardens, but I would suggest between 90 minutes and 2 hours. I hope you enjoy your visit.
