Great place for a good walk

The remains of a large Roman Town on the out skirts of Norwich. Head for the church where you’ll find a car park. What remains is the outer walls of the town to varying heights but it’s a lovely walks and there are lots of information boards telling you about the Roman town. It’s in open countryside and very picturesque and the path around the ruins is well marked and easy going. Open at any time and free to visit.

A beautiful walk to blow away the cobwebs!

I hadn’t been here in years as unfortunately years ago I had my bar broken into whilst I was on a dog walk here so I advise you not to leave anything valuable in your vehicle.
I went here with one of my dogs and partner last weekend and it was a lovely experience. The views are nice. Perfect dog walking spot and to let kids run about. I will be returning here as it’s only 15 mins from our house. I would advice a pair of wellies as it can be rather muddy. We had a look in the little church which was very interesting too. I was able to get some lovely photos of our walk too.

A Great Dog Friendly Walk with History thrown in.

This is. great place, the site much bigger than maybe you would realise from the web site. We took our two dogs and had a great walk and picked up some really interesting information about the site and its importance.

So close to Norwich and easy to find and park at too.

Lots of info and well signposted.

Felt compelled to write a review since there has been done since my last visit many years ago. Good info boards and circular walk. Paths could be a bit clearer of stinging nettles for little legs etc. But a bridge over river is signposted now and there is a flat walk to the church. The church was open on the Sunday for afternoon tea which was lovely and there was a loo in the church, open when we ate there.
Reasonable sized car park at both the Roman town and church.
Car park is free, and asks for donations.
Lovely place for a short circular walk.
P*s* the wildlife is worth observing too. We had a skylark land and sing on a post in front of us. Wonderful.

We called in here on way back to our campsite as was dog friendly site. There is quite a few car parking spaces, just a donation is asked for in a box. We walked for around an hour, quite a lot if information plus we could walk through the church grounds (into the church if you wanted to) so it was a circular walk. I think its a good place if you want a walk. There are no facilities here at all
