Came across this statue by accident after leaving Horse Guards, unfortunately it is in a gated enclosure so no access to the public. A fine Statue of a true brave Royal who lost his life very sadly .

The Statue of the Earl of Mountbatten is a bronze statue of admiral of the fleet, Louis Mountbatten located near to Horseguards Parade. The bronze was sculptured by Franta Belsky and was unveiled in 1983.

Can only be viewed from afar it should be placed in a more noticeable location. It is secured near Downing street and hard to see.

The statue was put in place in 1983. There is no access to the garden where the statue stands because of security - the garden backs onto Downing Street.
