Fantastic club/ community feel- everyone welcome for a flying/ running visit. Whether you're looking for a new regular club, or you're just visiting as a tourist or for work try out their sessions/ socials. Open to all abilities from Walk/run, to ultra-marathoners, enjoy a running club, welcome to all- no cliques- you don't have to 'get fit' first, it's a club to help you get fit. It has a great club house/ bar/ coffee/smoothies, so even if you don't fancy running, the cafe/bar is open to all and a cool place for a coffee/ smoothie or a beer. I've not been to any of their guest speaker nights yet, but I'm looking forward to being more involved,

In the midst of marathon training I had a trip to London pop up and wanted to find a good route when I came across the London City Runners website. Tim answered my questions and connected me with Katharine, who planned a wonderful 12 mile route from Tower Bridge through beautiful stretches of the city before winding up at my hotel. I'd highly recommend it, and the morning before the city gets too lively is a wonderful way to see the sights. Katharine was a wonderful guide.

I arranged a 10km run with London City runners along the Thames. Katharine was so cheerful and made a point of highlighting points of interest as we ran. It was such a great way to get my bearings, tick off some exercise and get some local insight. I loved it and would highly recommend it.

When planning my trip to London, I got in contact with the London City Runners, to see if I could set up a guide to take me for a 15 mile run. Tim, who runs the club, set me up with Katharine. I could not have had a better London running experience if I tried. Running 15 miles by myself is not so easy, and running in a foreign city with lots of traffic lights, not knowing where to go is even harder. So, having Katharine take the reins was fantastic. We emailed back and forth for several months leading up to our August running date. Katharine sent along her running map in advance for me to check out. It was based on what I wanted to see. I didn't have to worry about a thing, Katharine led and I got to enjoy the sites. She kept me in conversation so I couldn't spend too much time thinking about how many miles we were running (ack!). We ran by many famous sites, along the Thames, across the famous bridges, and past monuments I never would have known about. Big huge thanks to Katharine, for running over 15 miles with me on a hot summer morning, sharing your most beautiful city with me.

We all search google for the "unique" "off the beaten track" experiences when we travel, but this is the first time I found one. When I met Tim by the subway for the running tour, I was greeted by the most friendly guy who genuinely was excited to do the 1:1 tour. I was far along in marathon training at the time, so I actually tacked on 7 miles to make our 13 mile tour my 20 miler. The tour was simply my favorite part of the trip. Tim is professional, kind (held my snacks and water for me in a pack!), and a great runner. Do yourself a favor and book today - this is perfect for a beginner or up to a marathoner! No need to run alone in this great city. TIm will show the sites, give you history, but even better he's a heck of an inspiration with the running movement he's started in London (his free club has over 3,000 members!). I felt like I was running with a celebrity! Anyhow, if fast is your game, you'll get a great workout (we went sub 8:30/mi) and if slow is your game, you'll enjoy it even more. PS - I went in January and it was raining and it was STILL the best part of the trip. Don't avoid booking because you're worried about the weather (your skin is waterproof ya know ;) ) This is great for EVERYONE 1. Unique 2. Personal 3. Exercise = excuse for more beer later

Thanks so much for that fantastic review Elaine. It was a real pleasure to meet you and help you train for your very first marathon. Still can't believe how well you did! Even better to know that you raised money for such a good cause. I'm sure you'll now sign up for more marathons and you'll always be welcome to run with our club whenever you are back in London. Thanks again for being so supportive and such a positive force. It's been hugely encouraging. Tim
