Lovely little visit to the view after having a nice meal in the Brewers Fayre next door. This is a great little spot for anyone, families with children or couples out on a forest walk. Nice historic find for anyone interested in the history of the glorious Epping Forest!

We were walking from Chingford to Epping, and we wanted to buy some cards of the forest, which we were able to get here.
There were also many interesting displays and items to stimulate, in particular, younger minds.
Thoroughly recommended if you want to know more about Epping Forest.

An interesting place to visit for families if you are in the area for walks or meals at The Royal Forest. Free entry. Donations. Nice gift shop, with pocket-money things to buy.

There staff are disgustingly rude don’t ever visit if you have a dog they will dogshame you and try to tell you exactly what you should be doing with ur pet rather then doing there job by telling us about the area, i will never be returning and be making it clear to anyone with a dog don’t go anywhere near there dog hating venue, and think that just because there older they can comment on things that have nothing to do with them and expect nobody to say anything to them back dont work in a dog friendly place if you want to tell the visitors how to treat there animals learn to keep your thoughts to yourself

An attractive gallery and information centre about Epping Forest, suitable for all ages. Gives a good picture of the natural history of the forest, as well as the historical background e.g. links with the City of London, some local famous people like T E Lawrence, old laws connected with the area. Interesting for children, with things for them to find, listen to, colour, plus many beautiful photos, handles to turn etc. Usually an interesting art exhibition on the first floor and regular activities in the forest arranged by the Forest Rangers, especially during school holidays. Excellent small shop selling crafts, maps, wooden toys, pencils, cards, books etc. Staff very helpful and knowledgeable, nothing too much trouble. Great for school groups, with a good lunch-room/classroom.
