Neighborhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.

So, in fairness to William Evans, I think that I ought to post another review on them after having posted such a negative one the first time around. I'm not saying that the experience wasn't as awful as previously posted, however, they have, to their credit, done their best to make amends and they were truly sorry for the terrible service that we received. I live in hope of finding that this has been a 'learning' experience all round and that their apparently 'normal' good service will be resumed in future.

This is a lovely shop with great style. The clothing is all the sort of thing that you wish you wore all the time, but sadly, you don't. My son and I ventured down to the gun room to see if by some chance this might be the place to buy a nice over/under shotgun. If you're from the US, then answer is no. No, it's not.

Very interesting old style shop in St. James. Mostly selling hunting style clothing plus more casual type hunting attire. Also hunting memorabilia. Would guess it’s been around a long time! Good place for specialty gifts!

Classic and rare old fashioned country pursuits shop which I've found is consistently great to visit every time I’m in London and need something for the green fields of the U.K.
Always stocked to the rafters with a fantastic variety of top quality gear, clothing and extras, I’ve bought and sought advice on everything from shotguns to shooting socks over the years I’ve been visiting. Each time I’ve genuinely found it a pleasure to do so with friendly and v well informed staff always on hand as well.
So I’d advise anyone looking for such a shop in central London to definitely visit and support what is a gem of a store.

Although some time ago, I am still feeling the effects!
I was bought a beautiful rabbit fur gilet from William Evans by my mother for my birthday. I loved it, but wasn't sure about where it was sourced from, so I emailed William Evans who advised me the gilet was made in Guildford, Surrey using British rabbits... great! Happy to know the rabbits lived a free life and were probably shot by a local farmer etc.
A few months later, I noticed the label in the pocket - 'Made in China' - my absolute worst fear as many of us know of the conditions of horrendous fur farms throughout Asia... I checked the website... a British flag in a love heart claiming it was sourced in the UK... I emailed William Evans for clarification, and they came back to me saying that it was actually made in China! It wasn't until I specified they're website also said it was made in the UK that they said they'd amend it...
Some time on, but I still have the gilet, sitting in wardrobe as it has done since the day I found out... I will never be able to bring myself to touch it let alone wear it (which almost seems more wasteful! My ethics may seem strange to some)! I feel awful to think where it might have come from, and that William Evans lied to me.
Unfortunately it made me feel William Evans will go to any length to make a sale, even undermining the trust of their customers. Now working in the Shooting Industry with many of my clients in London, William Evans is the last shop I will recommend or take them to.

Was in town for meetings and found this place on St James street.
Ended up picking up a jacket for wandering about and a couple new fabulous ties.
Check it out for some great, fun, unique country style gifts.
Definitely not your typical crappy souvenir shop.
