We booked on the London 10k Christmas lights run. We chose the slower paced run and it was perfect. We had a group of 20 and we were ably led by Eleanor who did a great job telling us about Tudor Christmas' and how this related to each of our stopping points. This run surpassed every expectation I had! The London lights are amazing and this was the perfect way to see a range of them in main streets, on river banks, hidden away alleys and squares. I cannot recommend this tour enough and we will DEFINITELY be booking this again next year - it was SUPERB!

Since lockdown for COVID-19 started in March 2020 in the UK, I feared for my exercise options. Secret London Runs has stepped up to the challenge to engage and challenge the community. I’ve taken part in several virtual themed 5k and 10k runs, which are well organized with medals and gear sent via the post, and a fantastic Facebook group to share pics and stories.
More recently, my family and I have completed two 90 minute virtual scavenger hunts, which got our 12 year old off the computer and running around town spotting details with us. The hunt can be completed anywhere, so we enlisted family in Mexico to join, which has been great for bonding during these travel restricted times.
Kudos to Vanessa and team for making our lockdown lives a lot more interesting!!

Emma (18/12/22) led what was to be the most fun in the rain tour of London lights I have ever done! Admittedly my first, but won't be the last tour based on the fact that Emma led an entertaining and educational tour around London with a theme all based around our late queen and her history.
Despite the weather, a wet Sunday evening after the December cold spell, which everyone who had booked turned up was testament to what was in store and a credit to Secret London Runs.
We all got wet, but laughed and sung throughout the whole tour, with city dwellers and tourists stopping, shouting, clapping and taking pictures of this assembled crowd running through London all dressed in something festive, mainly Santa hats.
Starting at Marble Arch and ending up at Kings Cross Station going via Carnaby Street, Oxford Street, Mayfair etc learning along the way, great fun.
Pace wise, no one was left feeling slow and the faster runners didn't get frustrated with the general pace, plenty of stops to regroup and take in historical information.
Definately recommend this tour and now plan to book one of the other tours on offer.

This was our 3rd Xmas lights tour and our 5th SLR tour, so we keep coming back for more as they’re always fun packed events.
The running pace was good and plenty of stops ( but not too many) to make sure we could take photos and listen to Matt’s fun facts ( and jokes!) and check we’d all stayed together as it was a large group.
This was a new route Marble Arch to St Pancreas and we saw loads of lights in the way. Matt kept us all together without us feeling herded and there was the opportunity to run out our own pace.
Matt had speakers with him so was playing Xmas songs all along the way and we were singing, laughing, wishing people happy Christmas as we ran.
If you’re hesitating about booking any of SLR tours, please go ahead and book. You won’t be disappointed

This South London Street Art Tour by #SecretLondonruns was an absolute treat and introduced me to a whole new side of London life (in Penge, Forest Hill, Dulwich and Peckham.) The diverse range of stunning works included many pieces by international top street artists. I loved how the works in Penge are not part of a gentrified, arty farty area but pop up to delight you in housing estates and back alleys. Our Run Leader, Vanessa, was well informed, friendly and did a fantastic job.

Absolutely loved this fun filled run. Our group had Vanessa as our guide and she was so good, she showed us the main London street lights then took us to see the community lights around Baker Street and Paddington and they were spectacular. Vanessa has so much knowledge, and is great fun. I would thoroughly recommend the Secret London Runs if you want to have a fun couple of hours learning many interesting things about London go for it. My husband and I did the 90 Minute Dash twice now and had so much fun both times. It‘s a great way to get out a bit and explore your neighborhood. And you don‘t have to run at all and still find a lot of stuff.
I also did the Virtual Gin Run in June and had a blast. I love the very supportive community and it was so much fun to see all the other finisher pics. Never thought that doing virtual events could be that much fun.
You can feel how much love Vanessa puts into these events and how much she enjoys them herself.
Hope they will keep some of the virtual events after the lockdown as I would really miss them.

Did the 10k Christmas Lights run with a couple of friends, we had Matt as our tour guide to a very large group. He was good fun, very knowledgeable and took us on a really fun tour of some fabulous Christmas lights with a great musical soundtrack to accompany us. He didn't lose anyone on the way either! Would definitely do another Secret London run in the future.

I have recently run both the Peckham Street Art tour and the London Bounces Back tour with Vanessa, and cannot rate these events highly enough.
Vanessa is superb host, engaging and informative, while making sure everyone feels at ease and involved. Even if you think you know about London, you will be sure to learn something new, and discover places in London you would never have otherwise run.

This is the second year we’ve done this run and it is brilliant fun. Matt our guide is excellent with a mixture of (bad) jokes and London knowledge and he really makes the experience. You get to see cool and beautiful parts of London whilst wearing Santa hats, fairy lights and doing a bit of exercise all the same time. Highly recommend.

Great to hear from you! The Power Women Run is available any time as a private tour. The majority of our tours are private and you can find this on the tours part of our website.

How fit do you need to be. i am visiting London at Easter. staying with my daughter. We are active but don't run/jog as such. which tour would you recommend?

Hello Brid,
I'm not very fit either. You can walk the run at a pace of your choice. My friend and I go as fast as we can to work up a sweat but its nowhere near a jog. We took an hour and fifteen mins to do the tour last time where the runners took only about half an hour. There was no pressure to go any faster and there was still a great atmosphere as groups passed each other around the tour. I'm going on the Jack The Ripper Mystery tour on 31st March. Perhaps you could come on that one. My friend and I will be walking again. It will be great fun! We can't wait for it!
