We went to the temple and were lucky to go on a day where they were celebrating the completion of renovation and 12 years since building the temple so the temple was very busy. Everyone was allowed to touch the god statues using their hands, coating them in oil. The food provided was very tasty and there was lots of singing and talking from the holy men. Everyone their is so friendly and I always find it a spiritually uplifting place to visit.

If you are visiting London and want to visit a temple, the Sri Murugan Temple in East Ham would be a great choice. Built in the traditional South Indian style (Tamil) - the temple has authentic rituals and poojas carried out throughout the year. So if ever you are in London and searching for a place to pray in peace- I highly recommend this temple visit.

One cannot rate or compare temples . Just 3-5 minutes drive from mahalakshmi temple , you can locate this beautiful temple in east ham . The temple has the traditional south indian temple tower and adequate parking space (free) for a start. One can see and offer prayers to the many deities available inside the temple. Prasad is offered at select times in the dining hall.

As a Christian, I was invited to attend evening prayers with a Hindu friend. This is a smaller scale version of Hindu temples I have visited in Malaysia. The athmosphere is noisy and chaotic, compared to a Christian church, but is none the worse for that. Various groups were at different areas of the temple, and moved to other areas as the evening progressed. I enjoyed the whole experience, although I didn't understand much of what was going on. It seemed a social event with family's meeting and greeting each other.

It was always nice to visit temples from other countries. I was amazed how well they have maintained it and the the temple priest were nice and warming. When they knew I was from another country, they were happy to see me and share their journey to the west.

Really surprised to see such a divine temple and the deity. So happy and peace poured into us during the visit and prayers. All the Prathishta in the temple are well maintained and the pooja is so divine....

The outside is truly spectacular and reminds you of the temple in Pushkar, India.
It is free to enter, and the inside has a collection of the different gods.
Feels like a more modern version of India :)

It is rare to see such a beautiful temple in a Foreign land. Such is the joy and pleasure one get from visiting this temple. I will recommend everyone to take time out and come and pray at this temple. It is in between East Ham and Ilford and it is a walk able distance from East Ham Station or one could also take the bus 147 that stops bang next to the temple. Pls visit the Navagrahas and the other presiding deities at the temple and try to attend all the arties and pujas that happen right from Morning till late in the night.
