Barnes green is a medium sized green area with trees and grass areas with a good sized pond. The pond has an island in the middle and is a magnet for birds, especially ducks. Many come here to feed the birds. Nice place to come and relax.

Pretty and peaceful pond with baby swans
Apr 2016 • Family
This is a very nice pond with plenty of ducks to feed - extra bonus points if you can see the baby swans too (but keep your distance so you don't scare them).

Good food. Reasonable price and a good choice of real ales. Will recommend this pub to others.
We booked this as a last minute meal, and we're not disappointed. We had a 3 course meal and were made to feel welcome by the bar staff, waiter and owner.

There's much more than a nice little pond in Barnes!
Aug 2015 • Couples
Okay, so you get peace and quiet around the pond in Barnes village. Yest, there's shopping, cafes, pubs, restaurants and a huge green open space on Barnes Common. This part of London is great for families, kids, groups. The pond is not really even a side-show. There's the Wetlands wildlife centre, plenty of viewing, shopping, eating and drinking opportunities for as you walk or drive into the centre of the village. The travel points are Barnes railway, or buses from Hammersmith / Putney. It's a very good break from Central London.

Peaceful green space in Barnes, great for families. Nice pond with plenty of opportunities for the children, or adults, to feed the ducks.
