Address
Neighborhood: Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Great pub in the West End
Aug 2021
Moved on here after a pub beforehand closed and were not disappointed - friendly staff, friendly patrons and most importantly, friendly bouncers! Looking forward to visiting again.

Great pub in the heart the West End

Brilliant - the friendliest loveliest manager in the West End. The pub has the feel of a village pub in the heart of the Metropolis - totally recommended. Thanks for your service and hospitality

It’s a shame. The White Horse has always been my favourite place, it’s so close to the Apollo theatre and the upstairs is perfect and cosy. I’ve been telling everyone how excited I was to return post-lockdown and upon entering, I was met with a very unwelcoming attitude. I saw a sign on the bar that said “we are full”, so I politely asked the female bartender (with short hair) if they may have space upstairs a bit later on, and she said “look at the sign, we are full”. I pointed out that I was only checking in case they had space later on, and that I understood they were full up at the time. She again pointed to the sign and said “and anyway, we’re not serving food at the moment”. Rather surprised at her tone, I responded: “Okay, it doesn’t say that though so I thought I’d just check”. She looked at me like I was stupid and it’s quite frankly put me off from returning to what I once believed to be a welcoming environment with great food and drinks. Upon visiting Tripadvisor I’ve come across a multitude of similar comments about her attitude, so it seems I’m not the only one.

Good Boozer
Sep 2020 • Friends
It’s very much an old fashioned pub, quite unlike the more modern establishments you’d find in Soho (both a good and a bad thing). I enjoy the old fashioned feel and non fancy way of doing things. It isn’t a gastropub. Would recommend for a drink when in town.

The bartender told us to f- off
Sep 2020
The old large woman with short hair should not be allowed to work in any customer-facing role, she insulted me and my friends and told us to f--- off when we pointed out that she was being unnecessarily rude. Disgusting way of treating customers. The place is very crowded and they do not follow any of the anti-covid regulations: no track and trace, no table service, no social distancing and staff not wearing face coverings. I've never experienced anything like this anywhere else.

Very good

I know this pub very good . It’s own by Samuel Smith brewery. Over all years it was run by many managers. Some of them upset a lot locals so they stop coming to that lovely place, include myself so pub was very often empty. Finally after all this bad years that pub is run by very good manager. Locals come back and that pub come back to live again.
Nice beer . Very good bitter from oak barrows.
Very good location. Soho.
Must go there.

Good old fashioned city centre pub
Dec 2019
Like so many others, I stumbled across this pub whilst wandering around Soho looking for somewhere to sit and enjoy a relaxed pint of good beer before going round the corner for some great jazz at the Pizza Express in Dean Street. Couldn't have chosen a better option. It's a Sam Smiths pub, so there's a good selection of beers, lagers and cider brewed up in Tadcaster in Yorkshire, well kept and sold at ridiculously reasonable prices, considering the location. My pint of Taddy Lager was an amazing £3.90 in a part of London where you can easily pay well over £5 or more. The interior is utterly traditional. It was busy but I found a spot on a bar stiool in the window and did some fun people watching among the people coming and going. This is exactly how a pub should be, but rarely is these days.

Lovely friendly pub
Sep 2019 • Couples
Visited London in Sept for a show at Gielgud Theatre Soho during the afternoon we went for a walk to find out where it was and spied a lovely old pub right outside ,had to visit it didn’t we
The White Horse turned out to be quite old fashioned all dark wood which I love you can keep your modern wine bars we enquired if it got busy prior to the show as I can’t stand very long and wanted to pop in . The waitress said if she knew what time we would be back she would reserve a table in the bar and true to her word the table was there at 6pm as I had asked dispite the bar being packed. I would certainly visit again what a kind thoughtful young lady. Also the prices weren’t bad for London

No real ale!
Jul 2019 • Couples
Was in the area so sought out this Sam Smith's pub. Walked in and scoured the bar for the ale pumps. There weren't any! A Sam Smith's pub with no real ale? I didn't think such a thing existed. Well it does, in Rupert Street. All the other pubs in the area were busy (it was 5.00 pm on a warm evening but the White Horse was empty). I'm not surprised. We left without ordering and went to another pub. There's plenty of competition!

Nice place for dinner
May 2019 • Family
After a busy day wandering around London this was a good pub to stop at for dinner. The menu was varied but traditional enough for all of us. The Pie Trio was good as was the Steak and Ale pie. Nice selection of ales and other drinks to choose from.
