Lofty peaceful haven
Mar 2019
Not religious but loving old churches, St Dominic’s Prioy is a simple, large and beautiful building, gold brick outside, lofty and peaceful inside. It has a Willis organ, played for both services and recitals by an extraordinary organist, it Is an awesome sound. Or rather incredible range of sounds - hearing is believing. There’s also a small organ with a special history - do come and worship if a catholic, and whoever you are, come and see and hear some devine music in this special church. This winter they have been creating a very beautiful Rosary garden in an unpromising strip of land behind the church - an inspirational design. Look out for a dedication concert with the composer, James MacMillan conducting his Marian Motets.

St Dominic’s Church & Shrine of Our Lady of the Rosary
Oct 2018 • Friends
I absolutely love this church, and the community of The Order of Friars Preachers (Dominicans) who look after it.

The church itself is uncompromisingly beautiful, no less than 15 altars for the original 15 mysteries of the Most Holy Rosary (14 in side chapels and one for Our Lady). Add to this a high altar, low altar, and at least 4 others and you can begin to see just how special this sacred building is.

A new project at the church plans to install a Luminous Rosary Garden in the not so distant future. This will bring the Luminous Mysteries right into the fold and will allow pilgrims, devotees and worshippers access to sacred spaces dedicated to each and every mystery.

Of course, it is only fitting that such a highly important shrine would have an extensive series of events over the year, and the Dominican brothers in charge of the Shrine certainly pull no punches in this department either! There are not only special Masses particular to the time of year, recitals and concerts, but the Shrine has also played host to some wonderful speakers during the time I have been visiting it.

The church is in a very beautiful corner of London and within easy walking distance of trains and metro/tube stations, not to mention some wonderful parks. There is a bus stop adjacent to the main church entrance, and you can get from Kings Cross Station to here in 20 minutes.

Please do take the time to visit - you will not be disappointed

I went to a funeral and felt at peace on entering. It is a huge church with a lot of character. The congregation were also very welcome advising me where to park as its a residential parking area. But in the main road there is paid bayed parking.

Beautiful church

This is a really beautiful church located near Hampstead. I came across this church when I was out for a run in the area and decided to stop here at the end of my run. It has beautiful ceilings and it is really peaceful to be here.

Beautiful Catholic Church in North London
Apr 2015 • Solo
Discovered this beautiful church during Easter when I was searching for a Catholic Church in North London on google. Situated between, Hampstead and Camden, this church dates back from 1883 and is one of the largest Catholic Churches in London, with a design based on the structure of the Rosary Prayer. It has 14 side chapels. It is a gorgeous church and worth a visit.
