About Anne-Marie Fahy
Born and bred a Londoner, I qualified as a London Blue Badge Guide and City of London Guide because of my passion for London and my wish to show visitors and Londoners round this diverse, exciting and historical capital city. As a Blue Badge guide I can take guests into Westminster Abbey, St Paul's Cathedral and the Tower as well as other world famous sights, galleries and museums. I lead walking tours in different areas but also walks with themes ranging from Royal, Financial, Legal, Musical, Best of British, Street art, Fashion, Food, Shops, Markets and the Olympic Legacy. My aim is to inform but also to focus on the fun and vibrant side of this fabulous city. I am qualified to lead tours to other main attractions outside London.

We met with Anne-Marie outside Liverpool Station at Bishopsgate for a late afternoon walking tour of the East End and street art. Anne-Mary is very knowledgeable about the history of this area, and her passion for the local community is apparent. She sprinkled in plenty of history, while leading us through areas that we NEVER would have encountered as tourists on our first visit to London. I thought that seeing street art would be the highlight for me; but no, visiting the Nomadic Community Garden was the highlight. It was not only street art and sculpture, I was able to see the people of this community living their lives. Couples chatting with a bottle of wine as dusk slowly crept in on a Friday night, relaxing on a beat-up couch in the middle of a garden, filled with art covering every possible surface. I remember leaving, walking down another street, passing two young men: one was crying, the other responded with a hug and words of comfort. These are the moments that you cannot witness from a tour bus, or visiting monuments and crowded areas. We learned a lot from Anne-Marie, and had a chance to take in the sights and sounds of a side of London that does not cater to the generic tourist. It was incredibly unique and memorable, and I will recommend her to any of my friends and family traveling to London in the future.

We spent 2 1/2 days with Anne-Marie and she was so fantastic. It would have been a different trip without her! She was amazing with our kids, really bringing history to life. We loved all of her stories and the fun facts she shared. Anne-Marie really listened to what we wanted to see and was sure to fit it all in. She was able to even add in a few places we didn't know about. Her pub recommendation was first rate! We cannot say enough great things about our trip to London and the integral part Anne-Marie played in making it such a success.

I visited London in early October, and hired Anne-Marie to give my girlfriend and I a full day private tour in London. Anne-Marie is a Blue Badge Certified tour guide and is well versed in all of the major sites around the city. We set out early with a very ambitious goal to see Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London, and the British Museum all in one day. We spent a couple hours at the Tower and the Museum, and, while an entire day can be allotted just to the Museum, Anne-Marie did a good job fitting many things into the tour with the limited timeframe. We hit a snag with the Abbey, however, as there was a special event the day of the tour. We went to the V&A museum instead, and Anne-Marie was able to get us in to some of the special exhibits which were sold out. The icing on the cake was that Anne-MarIe met us later in the week for a quick tour of the Abbey at no extra charge because she didn't want us to miss it. This was a very nice gesture that went above and beyond our expectations. If you are visiting London and looking for a customized tour based on your own specifications, it will be a little more expensive but well worth it to do a private tour. While I'm sure all the Blue Badge guides are more than capable, Anne-Marie was really great and made our trip to London very memorable. If you are unsure what stops you want to make on your tour, simply give her an idea of what your interests are and she will build a special tour for you.

This was our fifth trip to London. In the 2 1/2 days we spent with Anne-Marie, she introduced us to areas of the city that we had never seen before. Her enthusiasm was contagious and her knowledge about London was very comprehensive. In addition, she kept our 13 year old granddaughter engaged and knew how to balance the facts with the sights and the shopping. it was truly a memorable experience.
