The area
Address
Neighborhood: Shoreditch
The western front of the edgy East End, Shoreditch is a perennially trendy haven for anything “street” – be it art, food, or fashion. With its handful of well connected transportation links dotting its perimeter, along with an ever increasing variety of shops, hotels, bars, and restaurants, it's easy to explore this trend-conscious and youth-oriented neighborhood. There's a lingering post-industrial grit about Shoreditch, but because it shares a border with “The City” financial district, the influence from its upscale neighbor can result in fascinating outcomes.
How to get there
  • Shoreditch High St • 3 min walk
  • London Liverpool St • 9 min walk

Sadly this gallery shutdown more than 1 year ago.
I do not know if it is alive elsewhere. Pity.

On Shoreditch High Street, a gallery with a variety of works from very talented street artist such as Mehdi Ghadyanloo-an Iranian artist , Thierry Noir -famous for painting the Berlin wall and Roa with his iconic large animal murals . I have visited the gallery several times and it has a variety of different exhibitions and the staff are very helpful and knowledgable . Canvases , art works and prints are for sale . well worth a visit.

I work for an event company in London. I enquired to organise a private drink reception in the gallery and bring some of our VIP's clients. I thought the aim of a gallery was to showcase artists and jump on every opportunity to show their art. Isn’t the main purpose of a gallery? Sell art?
They rudely replied to my email by nothing more than “how much” followed by a simple “pathetic” before I even had time to reply.
I understand that this kind of events are not always profitable and guests are more interested in drinking champagne than purchasing art pieces but it’s a great way to have a first interaction with the public and maybe even if the purchase isn’t immediate, it will lead to valuable word-of-mouth or worthwhile post on Trip Advisor!

Superb little gallery in East London, focusing on street art - stunning installations by great artists (Ghadyanloo, Noir, Delgado to name a few); affordable quality prints; very helpful and friendly staff. Highly recommend regular visits!

stunning gallery in shoreditch

actually it's a bit contradictory to confine street art into walls but HGG manages to do that quite well. I've seen several expositions for 2 years and each is a truly unique experience. sharp curation. Must see in Shoreditch

A hidden gem for fans of contemporary street art and public art
Aug 2015 • Solo
If you love street art, public art or contemporary art in general then it is definitely worth checking out the Howard Griffin Gallery. They manage to bring some of the best contemporary artists in this field to their small gallery in Shoreditch and put on exhibitions that both challenge and inspire. There's always a great atmosphere and the staff make you feel like part of the family; you'll know more when you walk out the door than you did when you entered.

street art gallery in east London
Jul 2015 • Solo
This gallery is an absolute must for any (street) art lover. They've had great shows by Phlegm, Pablo Delgado, Thierry Noir , John Dolan etc.. Prices are very reasonable, superfriendly staff, close to the City, in ultra hip Shoreditch. Enjoy!
