Function not form - time to go.

A shell of a former shopping destination. Odd layout, shops and restaurants closed or clinging on. The sooner it gets demolished as part of the wider site redevelopment the better.

Lost the spark
Oct 2021 • Solo
I used to like coming here. It was full of life, nice atmosphere, cinema and restaurants. Sadly over the years, restaurants open up and drop like flies! Not sure if it is rent. It's now practically dead quiet. Only a few restaurants, gym, supermarket, bookshop and nothing more. Lost it's spark. I only came to the cinema. Don't make a special trip.

Vue — Utterly Disgraceful
Dec 2019 • Family
We came to see Frozen 2 with our 7yo son and 4yo daughters. We had so called VIP seats.

The service quality in the entrance was expectedly abysmal, so that wasn’t too disappointing. The staff couldn’t care less it seems.

But the cinema (screen 2) was at a new low. The seats hadn’t been cleaned. There was trash in some of the cup holders, rubbish and food on the floor and on one of our seats, and we saw a mouse running along the seats of the row behind.

I went to tell the person checking tickets — which she didn’t scan with anything so it would’ve been easy to create my own and just walk in without paying. She was unflinching. Unsurprised. Had no idea what to do and said “there’s nothing I can do” to demonstrate her ineffectiveness. I asked if there was a manager — yes, she said — so I suggested she tell the manager. I also suggested she asked the cleaners to come and sort it out.

Needless to say, neither were done.

At more than £50 for our family, this is really awful. Pity I couldn’t capture a photo of the mouse but they run faster than I can get my camera ready.

I very much expect that Vue will ignore this review. But if you’re coming to this place I suggest you bring disinfecting wipes, and do report the issues you find.

I’m the urban shopping spaceship, baby
Oct 2019 • Solo
Only in the Finchley Road in the proximity of Sigmund Freud’s final resting place and a branch of Waitrose named after a footballer might one find a shopping centre resembling a spaceship. It neatly accommodates a branch of Habitat, a large Waterstones, and any number of restaurants as well as a downstairs food court (a pasta joint and Yo Sushi) and an upstairs cinema complex. The restaurants are now all chains. An independent and characterful Italian upstairs seems to have disappeared.

Never been

We headed to the O2 for a look around, didn't know that there was that much there, shops market and an outside event free to enter. We had a nice coffee and headed into the city I will go back on day.

The Edit Bar - too sticky
Apr 2019 • Couples
Cinema fine but go outside for a pre-Marvel drink. The bar is filthy and staff unable to assist with wiping down tables. We were supplied with DIY paper towel (photograph) however. Just doesn’t cut through those hard to move stains. Management, and on this occasion, staff - pull yourselves together.

Good morning, thank you for leaving the O2 Centre a review. The cinema is run independently to the Centre, by Vue Cinemas and all feedback must be sent to them directly. We have passed on you comments to the Vue team at the O2 Centre so hopefully this can be rectified immediately. Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We hope you enjoyed the film.

Cinema, bar and meal
Jan 2019 • Couples
Great and surprising evening out. My local cinema and it had been rather a last resort since the disappointment of the Weatherspoons shutting, as this had been a great plan for a pint and cheap meal before seeing the film.
Now, to our joy, there's a very smart bar within the cinema itself, good staff and you can take your beer and wine in with you. Long overdue here. We also had good hamburgers at Byrons after buying our tickets, having been left waiting too long at the new Pizza Express - probably teething problems. So now there's a good choice of fast food too!

A bit dated now
Jan 2019 • Solo
I have not been here for some years and it has not changed at all since it opened maybe 20 years ago. It still has a food area, a huge Sainsbury's, a Waterstones, Habitat and the cinema. It is not a destination shopping centre like Westfield, maybe ok to meet up with friends if you live locally but not worth a major detour to visit especially.

Killing time
Nov 2018 • Solo
Not sure what to make of this shopping centre. Some of the shops can only be accessed from outside the centre! All very strange.
I visited Starbucks, Oliver Bonas, Sainsbury’s, Tiger and Waterstones. On the whole it was ok but I did find the manager in Starbucks incredibly rude.
The shops and restaurants which are actually in the centre are set in a circular pattern and quite easy to navigate. The Sainsbury’s is large and plenty of parking but I did think the parking costs were on the high side. The centre is really close to Finchley Road station so convenient for the tube. I wouldn’t class this as a destination just somewhere to kill half an hour.
