Neighborhood: Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.

Wonderful service with personal touch
Nov 2020
Absolutely amazing service from beginning to end. I needed a personalised item painted with pictures of grandchildren on it and contacted Cosmo to ask if this was possible. They were able to paint me a mark which is highly personalised and a one off. My daughter is going to love it when she sees it and best of all it is microwaveable as she often forgets to drink her tea running around after three children .thank you very much for your amazing service from beginning to end and for the artwork and well done to the artist. I would highly recommend this service as its unique and personalised and they have a wonderful array of China and gifts .

Unique china gifts
Feb 2019 • Solo
Looking for something beautiful, quirky or uplifting for yourself or a special person? Cosmo China is the place to come. Each place, cup, mug, jug or vase is individually hand painted by a selection of artists in many different styles ranging from abstract and geometric to ones featuring animals, flowers and characters. You can commission items for special events. I have bought many items for myself which I still love using and for friends and family. I always pop in to see what new designs they have. The staff are always helpful and friendly. A great place to go.

Lovely shop tucked away in central London

I love this shop. Years ago I lived around the corner and now I stop by every time I visit London. The staff are wonderful and they have the most colourful and fun hand-painted china. Lots to selection makes it hard to pick just one piece!

Hidden gem for tea and fine bone China lovers
Jan 2017 • Couples
We were staying at a the grange Holborn and decided to explore the neighbourhood. We bumped into a local, chatted and he walked us into cosmo china. We were impressed with the wide range of ceramics with beautiful and unique designs. We were greeted by Josey who is an artist herself. She was extremely helpful and obliging. Highly recommend this store if you want to purchase something local in London. We bought a tea pot and two cups. Very happy with it.

Something different
Aug 2016
Wafted into this shop, which is picturesquely locate just off Southampton Row. I was attracted by a Bloomsbury tea towel in the window and stayed to admire the hand painted china with bright and quirky designs. I especially like the crocodiles! They will take special commissions, too. Friendly staff and a warm welcome. Recommended.

Tea Pot Wedding Gift
May 2016 • Friends
We were presented with the most unique gift that I have ever received. A teapot made by the Canterbury Cosmo China team, with a hand painted picture from one of our official wedding photos, along with the date and names of the friends whom the gift was from - everything was beautifully painted and colored. Such a work of art which now contributes to those wonderful wedding memories that we have. I most certainly will be using this amazing place for my future gift ideas, already have one or two in mind. I am looking forward to visiting the shop.

Fun Place With Whimsical and Cute Hand-Painted China Items
May 2015 • Couples
My wife and I popped into this shop for a minute just before eating lunch at a restaurant next door on this short pedestrian street and discovered lots of cute china items all hand-painted. We ultimately purchased a serving platter with a fish design, although there were lots of other things that caught our eye. The store showcases artists that paint bone china on the premises. Any piece can be personalized or painted especially for the customer with enough advance notice. According to their literature, the items are dishwasher and microwave safe. Staff are personable and helpful. They do ship, but be mindful of that cost compared to your particular purchase's price. They do wrap the items very carefully knowing that many will be carried home aboard an airplane. Also, they do participate in the VAT refund program, but will offer you another store piece in lieu of going through all the hassle. We got a matching egg cup. Except for the fact that we were going to a particular restaurant, we would probably have missed this street and the shop as both are small and unassuming, although once there, it was a fun little area with lots of small restaurants and pubs. One of those types of places that is enjoyable to spend a bit of time in and take home a keepsake that differs from the usual mass-produced souvenirs.
