St Peters Barge is an interesting concept being a floating church. Even more bizarre is the location near Canary Wharf. A church ministering to bankers and insurance brokers in the hearts of a major financial district. In the current volatility and times of uncertainty, I'll bet the masters of the universe are hoping to avoid going down with ship.

There wasn't much to see when I visit on Sunday as the service was somewhere else and those in the church were having their lunch.

St Peters Barge is London's only floating church. We visited on Christmas morning while we were on holiday. This (autonomous?) church outreach is based on a well equipped and comfortable converted Dutch barge. Easy disabled access. We were warmly welcomed at their 10.30am service. The multi-national congregation of young families and those of mature years is led by a charming and cheerful pastor with a passion for people. Mulled wine and minced pies after a thought-provoking message and some hearty singing - a personal Christmas highlight for me!
Midweek lunchtime talks and a full programme of other events confirm that this is a busy and committed church
Find them in West India Dock, near the (free entry!) London Docks Museum

We visited this floating church last Sunday. It was a great experience. The people were so friendly. The music was beautiful, and the sermon was well thought out and very thought provoking. It was such a great thing to worship with brothers and sisters we had never met yet still felt a kinship with. And a bonus…church on a barge--how cool is that?!
