The National Firefighters Memorial is a memorial composed of three bronze firefighters in action during the Blitz, in Second World War. So you might be mistaken in thinking that the memorial is only to firefighters of the war. In fact, the memorial is for all...More

Unfortunately you are likely to walk right past this memorial as you will be overwhelmed by the views of the River Thames and St Paul's Cathedral. This is a pity. The bronze represents all Firefighters who have died and their names are inscribed. It is...More

A quiet moving, if a little on the small side tribute to the angels who came in the guise of men to save those affected by the ravages of war right on their own doorsteps.

Though it is a great memorial it can be easily missed. I also think it should be bigger particularly where it is

This splendid memorial to the brave firefighters that lost their lives through conflicts of war. Take time to stop & admire it when in the area of St Paul's Cathedral and spare a thought for these courageous people.

Easily missed as you walk towards St Paul's. Your eyes are on the towering dome of the cathedral and therefore the memorial is passed by. Worth taking a few minutes to read the info on it and admire the action figures.

We stumbled upon it whilst in the area and we are so glad we went over to investigate. A dramatic memorial to remember the poor souls who died in action, often forgotten especially in war times.

During our most recent stay in London, we had been to St. Paul's Cathedral for our first visit inside this splendid building. After completing our self-guided tour of the cathedral, we decided to take a walk around the surrounding area. In the process, we came...More
