The area
Address
Neighborhood: Greenwich
Greenwich Mean Time starts here, so to speak, as the very concept of global time was established at Royal Observatory, just one of several buildings of architectural interest in Greenwich. Indeed, the whole of Greenwich's historic town center, its Royal Park and a number of related buildings (and one world famous ship, the Cutty Sark) make up the UNESCO World Heritage site known as Maritime Greenwich. Today a laser beam is shot out across the night sky from the Observatory to mark the location of the Prime Meridian. Other bold (some say brash) 21st century additions to the area include landmarks such as The O2 entertainment complex (previously known as the Millennium Dome) and the Air Line cable cars, which offer scenic transport across the Thames between North Greenwich and the Royal Docks.

Always excellent

A fantastic theatre that always has top notch productions. They take covid precautions very seriously, and I was impressed by the quality of the service from staff. Very well organised and felt totally safe and secure. One star review below is totally unjustified in my opinion. Never had anything short of an excellent experience here.

Great musical
Oct 2019 • Friends
Lovely, little theatre in the heart of Greenwich. Really enjoyed Bklyn, a musical as the singing was incredible. This theatre actually has toilets in two locations so hardly any queueing which makes a change. Easy access from Greenich, Cutty Sark DLR tube stations. DLR is a great way to see Docklands especially at night. Added bonus.

Fire Hazard
Aug 2019 • Friends

I saw part of a play in the studio I felt very unsafe and claustrophobic as i couldn’t see the fire exit signs and left early not before tripping over somebody trying to navigate my way out I dread to think what would happen if there was an emergency.
Iam sure the new Greenwich Festival Theatre by theatre producers selladoor worldwide opening in 2021 will be aware of fire regulations safety etc.
I emailed the manager but he didn’t respond hence this review I’ve reported there poor health and safety to Royal Greenwich Council and the London Fire Brigade.

Trial of Oscar Wilde at Greenwich Theatre
Apr 2019 • Couples
Went for the first time despite living in Greenwich for 4 years. Bar and cafe area is really nice and prices very reasonable. The theatre itself is bigger than I expected, and our seats were excellent. A really nice aesthetic inside reminiscent of the older West End theatres.

The show we saw - The Trials of Oscar Wilde - was wonderful. Great script, high quality acting. Can’t wait to come back to see something else.

Always worth a look
Mar 2019 • Family
NIce theatre with a varied programme. From Excellent value pantomime tickets for the family to more edgy productions like the recent Lord of the Flies. Very close to local amenities, bars and such like, plus parking around corner. Nice bar which gets busy at interval. All seats have a good view. Ice cream is a bit steep at three quid though!

The Pantaloons Odyssey - Fantastic
Mar 2019 • Family
Usually see The Pantaloons in open air shows but the Greenwich Theatre was perfect for their entertaining The Odyssey re-telling. Nicely small theatre an close to all the action, and good location to nearby parking (free after 630pm) and some eateries for pre-show dinner. Bar there also

Love, love, loved it.
Absolutely amazing. Smiled and laughed the whole way through.
As two adults going to a panto in a small production I did not know what to expect . But I am much more keen to support small enterprise.
No fear. Everyone on stage gave 100%, there was so many great performances.
Dolly, tips the humour scales and the 'Johhny Depp' pirate was so talented with his numerous characters. Its hard to single anyone out, but even the dancers without lines, were great. I am going to make Greenwich Theatre top of my 'go to' list from now on.

Robinson Crusoe @Greenwich
Dec 2018 • Family
We attended this theatre with family and friends. It is a very busy theatre. Ample parking nearby. There are various items to buy and the show is very entertaining with the pirate and “Dolly” make it a memorable night.

A Christmas Carol
Nov 2018 • Friends
We went here to see the Christmas Carol in the studio within the Greenwich theatre.
The studio is a small space holding 70 people.
The play was a touring play and fantastic.

Jungle Book
Aug 2018
Was disappointed this didn’t follow the traditional Disney theme we were expecting. The performers were talented but it was more of a take on the film rather than a theatre remake so we didn’t recognise any of the songs
