I would say that during Covid Times as at any other time, the Life Guards pay no attention to people in the Water - they are always looking the other way or at their phones. I often have to draw the attention of the Lifeguards to the fact that people are swimming the opposite direction to what they should so I dont bump into them !! Terrible organisation in this place, which I am a member of.

I've been swimming in this pool for a good 10 days now and there is one thing I can say for sure. The water is not clean. I can see disgusting 'things' underwater and what caught my attention on the first place was that the water was a very salty taste! Which cannot be a good sign. People obviously don't shower before going in the pool, resulting with many sweaty people washing their gym sweat in the pool water! Or at least I hope the salty taste is just sweat! There are signs to remind people to shower before going in but no one cares if people are not following them. During peak times, it must be the dirtiest pool I have ever swam in! Lockers are quite dirty as well, with not much space and not enough lockers. 20p charge for every time you lock your locker! Unacceptable (the least) at a gym you pay over £60 monthly membership! Overall, not recommending it, unless it is your only option.

The swimming pool is big and clean. But the free weights area is relatively small given the size of the gym. And it is extremely busy during the peak time.

This gym has the potential to be great but as many people have pointed out, it falls short in many departments. My main gripe is the cardio machines. You cannot use ANY cardio machines unless you log onto an app and sign in with your details and scan a code and all this other crazy stuff! High tech machines are useless if it actually makes the user's experience worse. I think it's absolutely insane that you can't just hop on a cardio machine mid workout to get your heart rate up unless you jump through hoops. Your other option is to buy a key to use the machines! Complete rip off. In addition to that, as everyone has already pointed out, the customer service is dismal. The staff are not very helpful and something always seems to be broken or not working. Last time it was that they had no towels available. Sometimes the sinks don't work, sometimes the lockers are jammed and don't work with many styles of padlocks. There's always SOMETHING! I'll just stick to my little community gym where everyone is friendly and the machines might be dated but at least they work. And again...signing into a treadmill with an app??? Are you KIDDING me???
