Neighborhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

- alisonWest Wickham, United Kingdom30 contributionsExcellent experienceWe did Pharoah’s Chamber and it was excellent. It was quite difficult, but we just about managed to finish. We were a group of adults, but I think children could do it too. Daniel. Our guide was excellent and helpful without giving the game away. Great fun; will return for the next challenge.Hi Odyssey! Thank you for taking the time to leave us this great review! We are glad to hear you enjoyed Pharaoh's Chamber, you are right it is a tricky room but it sounds like you were up for the challenge! I will pass on your very kind words to Daniel. - Stefi S6 contributionsHad a blast breaking into the British Museum and getting that vase! The experience was amazing! It all began with the amazing welcome from Eszter who explained everything we'll need and then helped us throughout the game by giving us just the right amount of nudges. She was very kind and accommodating. It was my friend's birthday and they even hung a happy birthday sign when they found out which was very sweet! The room had very interesting puzzles that were quite challenging (thought we're not gonna make it in the beginning 🤣) but very cool to solve! In the end we made it out on time after all! Would highly recommend! Great way to have some fun with friends!Hi Stefania, Thank you for taking the time to leave us a review. Very well done for escaping Room 33, excellent team work all the way through! - Nea C3 contributionsBrilliant birthday fun!Me and a few friends played Room 33 for my birthday yesterday and it was great fun! Brilliant concept and execution. We loved breaking into the British Museum and managed to steal back the vase with ten minutes to spare :D It took us a while to get our flow going, but we really enjoyed the varied puzzles - and the physical challenge! (You can opt out if you're not able to do it, which was a nice touch) Our game master Eszter guided us with great care and humour, thank you! I'd told about my birthday in advance and they'd put a banner up in the room which was really lovely. Looking forward to going back for Pharaoh's Chamber!Hi @708neac Thank you so much for taking the time to leave this review. We are so happy to hear you enjoyed your birthday and we could make it special. Congratulations on that great escape time! It is a tricky room but it sounds like you rose to the challenge. Nothing beyond the realms of most people cracking the solutions but enough to stump us a few times. Would 100% recommend.Hi Mart, Thank you for taking the time to leave this review! - Stay419338637462 contributionsMost recommended!Upon her request, I booked this for my daughter's 15th birthday experience, alongside myself, her friend, and her friend's mother. None of us had ever done an escape room before, so did not know what to expect. It was very challenging for us, so when we completed a task in the escape room, it really did feel like it was "earned". Unfortunately, we did not make it out of the escape room within the allocated hour. However, our game master helped to bring the game to a satisfactory conclusion, so we weren't left feeling frustrated. On another note, I appreciated the subtle nod made to acknowledge my daughter's birthday during the game. That was a nice touch! "Escape Rooms" also took a couple of group photos at the end, and then emailed them to me for free, which is a lovely memento to the day. I would definitely recommend "Escape Rooms".Hi! Thank you for taking the time to leave this lovely review, we are so glad we could make your daughter's birthday special! Great job with your first escape room and it is good to hear you weren't feeling too frustrated. The first is always the hardest but we would love for you to come back and try our other room!Written October 2, 2024This response is the subjective opinion of the management representative and not of Tripadvisor LLC.Visited September 2024Traveled with familyWritten September 30, 2024

We had a lovely time and the people were friendly and helpful. The room we played in was quite large and we didn’t get in each others way. It wasn’t a ‘linear’ room so puzzles could be solved in any order. I found the room lacking in sound proofing… we could hear walk-in talkies from other rooms. Over all a pleasant experience.

Really fun and creative escape room. We thought it is pitched really well with enough challenge but still making it achievable. Connor the game master was also amazing, great little hints without giving it away to help us through when needed and made us feel like we had done well when I’m not convinced that was the case. Definitely recommend and will go back for their second game.

Hamza ran both our games today, starting with Room 33 - a great start to the game so much fun, quite challenging as it's not linear but very pleasing to solve each task and a decent finish, we won with 15 minutes left!
Pharaoh's Chamber - nice layout and some fun puzzles, only real downside was the story. We escaped with 6 mins left in here.
Overall, Pharaoh's Chamber was more difficult, but Room 33 was much more enjoyable so I definitely recommend this over the other!
You can lock your belongings away in a locker during your game and keep the key. Hints and nudges are given via walkie talkie.
Best challenge is to escape with 3 hints or less, you can have nudges and yes or no questions!
Thanks Hamza! 😊

I tried to book this for my mum's birthday along with my sister but the booking went through on the wrong date. I requested a change of date on the phone, but the member of staff abruptly refused.
Regardless, I had already paid and wasn't going to be able to make it. The staff member refused to engage stating that this would count as a missed booking and that she couldn't help me. I asked if I could speak someone that might be able to help, but was very quickly shut down as she stated that she was the manager.
Eventually, I was offered a 10% booking if I booked for 10 people. Clearly, since there were 3 of us, this was not helpful.
I would recommend trying another escape room provider that is more friendly and might make the experience (booking included!) more enjoyable.

Hi Callum,
Thank you for taking the time to write a review.
Please check our T&C's regarding reschedules, cancellation and refund policy. You can also find these in your confirmation email, in your booking reminder email and on our website in the FAQ section.
I called you when your team failed to show up for the booking. I offered a 10% discount on your next booking as an act of kindness which you found too low (a stipulation of 10 people was never mentioned, not sure where this came from?).
The discount is still on offer should you wish to take advantage of it in the future. Just drop us an email!
Hope your mum had a lovely birthday nonetheless!
Kind Regards
Eszter

As keen 'escapers' we didn't enjoy this one at all (which is a shame as it's quite easy for us to get to but now won't bother returning). Coupled with poor customer service was just a real disappointment. The day before our booking one of our group's son was taken to hospital unexpectedly, so I phoned to see if we could re arrange (not cancel) to another date and were told 'no', the best they could offer was trying to resell our slot (being at 10.30 slot on a wednesday with only 24 hours to do this, we knew this was unlikely). We therefore went along with the remaining 3 of us. The pharaoh game was underwhelming and confusing and poor quality. Rather than a room decked out to be like a tomb (sandy floors and walls etc) it is basically an office with 70s plain white doors. the puzzles were poor (we triggered one by laying the note pad on it!) confusing, and one didn't work which took us ages to realise and made us run out of time (we were allowed another 10 minutes but rather than resetting the manual clock for us we just didn't then know how long we had). The host was unenthusiatic from the start. The brief was wooden and there was no apology for the broken puzzle afterwards or anything, in fact we didn't even realise we hadn't 'escaped' as we thought we had triggered the door open, but only on looking at the photo afterwards did we notice it said 'locked in'. My friend's unimpressed face in our photo rather sums it up! (This is the first escape room I have given less than 5 stars, even if other haven't been as good as our favourites, as long as the host is nice and puzzles are good we still enjoy then and rate them so).

3 of us did Room 33 and Pharaoh's Chamber at the London Bridge location.
Note for experienced players, these definitely aren't the most difficult, but they present a decent challenge where you're never left frustrated. You get a few nudges in the right direction if you're wasting time, which is nice.
The rooms are of an older generation, with a number of fun magnetic locks, and the usual padlock combinations dotted around. The puzzles aren't linear, so it's nice to split up and work on different aspects, then switch for fresh eyes, or all check out what one person managed to solve.
The hosts, Banita and Charlotte were lovely and welcoming, especially given the COVID19 situation, and made sure we were well looked after.
Don't go in expecting the latest technology and craziness of the newer rooms out there, but what they do, they do very well.
Managed to get ourselves on the Hall of Fame, so keep an eye out for The Hippodrome Fantastic!
Thanks again to the lovely ladies who looked after us!

My girlfriend and I did the room 33. The escape starts off well with a Fun spectacle and follows on to some interesting puzzles. Our GM was Connor, he set the scene and explained their rules. I think their rules regarding hints is a good system that gives you every chance to escape without making it too easy and avoids you from getting frustrated. Connor did a great job as GM and him and the other staff were very friendly. We will definitely be back to do their other room. The only other thing to note is anybody with mobility issues may have issues with parts of this room, although there might be measures in place to help those people if you speak with staff.

Thank you for taking the time to write a review!
We appreciate the compliment on our hint system, we know it's unique.
Our other game has no physical elements and we can go around the physical obstacle in Room 33 too actually!
Hope to see you back soon to try the Pharaoh's Chamber!

Extremely pleased with our experience with Escape Rooms London Bridge!! Some of our group were delayed at work which meant that we were a little late for the session, but they were completely understanding and accommodating. Ernest was fun, informative, and provided us with an excellent time! We were a group of 7 so could only do the Pharaoh’s Chamber, which was challenging but super fun. Overall excellent for us all, they even took a group photo after for free which is a great touch. Highly recommend and will 100% be back to try a different room!!

Really enjoyed our visit to the Escape Rooms in London Bridge. Gamesmaster Hamza was an excellent host with just the right level of humour and instruction. The puzzles were difficult but not impossible and we escaped with plenty of time to spare so were rather pleased with ourselves! Thoroughly recommended, we’ll definitely be back to do the other room soon.

We actually played the Angel branch of Escape Rooms, Dark Side of The Moon. Having experienced a fair number of escape experiences I able to say this was our least favourite. The game itself is different from the usual room it is more physical and has very few puzzles and those that are included are not very challenging. We like an experience that has a good narrative and this game was lacking in cohesion and story, we also found the Nazi symbolism inappropriate particularly in a family gaming environment. The lazar gun part seemed totally pointless just firing at pictures on a wall without any purpose. On a practical note parts of the experience were in very confined spaces which was a struggle for four people let alone a larger group. Finally there are some real safety issues with this space one of our group 5'5" hit her head badly due to very poor warning signage over a low doorway. I think this experience is probably good for groups of teenagers who want a physical rather than mental challenge. Finally the soundproofing is very poor and we could hear clearly the group in the other room which was very off putting.

Hello Janet,
We're sorry to hear that you had a disappointing experience within the Dark Side of the Moon. Our games at Angel are different to the traditional room, being both high tech and linear and that means that they're not always everyone's cup of tea. That being said, we do have many people who enjoy the game.
In regard to the difficulty level, perhaps the puzzles within the game felt too easy for you given your experience and ability level but we do have teams struggle with the elements of the game that are puzzle based. The difficulty level clearly was not to the level that you've come to be able to complete.
In terms of the Nazi symbolism, it is clear on our website that the game is thematically based within that world and the game is drawing directly from representation with western media. You're attempting to stop the Nazis. However, if you believe the symbolism is inappropriate, perhaps this is something that we need to look into to change or adapt.
Teams are warned twice before the game about the low ceilings in parts of the game, via a waiver and via the game masters introduction. The lower areas are padded, and sign posted as well. Obviously we don't want anyone to get hurt within our games which is why we take precautions to ensure it rarely happens. On the rare occasion that it does happen, we do take it into consideration. I hope this was brought to your game masters attention on the day and your team member received the right care for her injury.
We hope this hasn't put you off of all of our games. Project DIVA is a far more mental based game and might be more to your taste and our games at London Bridge are more traditional games which might suit your style of escape games better.
The Escape Rooms Team.

Do you have to be physically fit for London Bridge escape rooms?
Written August 27, 2019
EscapeRoomsUK
London, United Kingdom
Project DIVA and Room 33 require a low level of physical fitness as there is a small amount of crawling within the game. Pharaoh's Chamber doesn't require any kind of physical fitness. Dark Side of the Moon is a more physical game with stairs, a slide and a small amount of quick paced movement.

This looks very interesting. Are there any rooms for families with children? One is 5 other 9 or are they too young for this ?
Written December 27, 2017

Yes, it will be too hard for even the 9 years old. To solving the puzzles and tricks in the game, most time it requires strong logical thinking. The 5 & 9 years may haven't developed this level of ability.

I'm interested in an escape room experience. I'll be in London soon for a few days with my boyfriend, so we are just two people and as I've read escape rooms are designed for groups and for just 2 people it is very expensive. Is there any escape room for 2 that is not too expensive?
Written October 25, 2017
Most rooms in London requires 3 people, although they will be more than happy to have only 2 as a group, so long as you pay the price for 3 people and understand that it is harder to escape with only two people.
There are some exceptions though, one of which is called the "Million Dollar Date Night" from the Panic Room which only requires two people, it's worth having a look at!

Hello Elmor,
Thank you for your interest in Escape Rooms!
We have two rooms currently available in London Bridge - The Pharaoh's Chamber (an Egyptian tomb theme, with maximum 7 players) and Room 33 (a Chinese museum heist theme, with maximum 6 players). For 20 people, we would generally recommend forming 4 teams and booking both rooms in 2 sessions. Both rooms are equally challenging and unique, so nobody would be missing out!
Hopefully this helps but should you have any further queries don't hesitate to contact us!

how can I book tickets also Please let me know the tickets booking and other details

Written September 27, 2016
It's like a puzzle and you have to solve different things to unlock different parts of the room and then escape, I played the Egyptian themed room and it was great fun and also challenging enough. I wouldn't recommend this for young children, probably over the age of 11.

Different themes and different puzzles. But both good and both up to an hour. Unless you're an escape room aficionado it won't matter which one you do, and if you are an aficionado you'll do both.
