The worst escape experience we have ever done (have enjoyed over 50) both traditional indoor escape rooms and outdoor events. The guy presenting was so underwhelming I have no words to describe. We were charged £20 per head to participate and were joined up with another 4 person team of total strangers. The fact we were teamed up wasn't an insurmountable issue as we all got on well however, at this extricably unjustifiable cost it made it twice as expensive as a good, indoor room. The "venue" was set up on a folding table under an arched entrance to a building courtyard and we were presented with a case containing some poorly produced props and laminated clues. These clues, when solved lead us on the "enthralling" trail to a rucksack containing 3 further locked metal containers containing more of the same low budget clue materials. One of the characters themed in the story line should have been Dick Turpin!! Here's a wee hint to consider before you attempt this experience... DON'T!!!!

Edinburgh Fringe version.
Would leave less if I could.

Worst fringe event I've attended, worst escape room I've ever done (over 80 indoor and 4 outdoor)

It was a disaster.
We booked as 4 (which should be the upper limit I'd say as there's really only stuff for 2 people at a time to do) but were paired with another group of 4 (no mention that this could happen in the booking) and so most of the time up to 6 of us were standing around doing nothing.

The event was outside, which usually means moving around from place to place and in the past has had us running down the street chasing actors. This had us standing round a table under an archway solving lock codes on a series of boxes.

The gamemaster was apalling, he was completely disinterested, barely spoke and forgot to put out the only clue that was supposed to be placed somewhere away from the table. He didn't give any clues which is unusual for an escape room.

The company have said they'll give a refund if the event building will issue it, which would be nice, though I don't know if this would happen.

I wouldn't have paid £20 total for this, let alone the £20 per person (8 in our group in the end).

There's no format to leave reviews for fringe shows specifically, so I'm putting it here. But I cannot over state just how bad it was.

Did this as a Christmas shindig with work, I was dubious on how it would work virtually but it was fantastic. The live actor and banter throughout made it part comedy part challenge, everyone loved it and I think it was preferred to your normal boring 'sit down meal' Christmas affair. Thank you so much. 00PEAS

A great virtual escape room experience, very well presented and managed to the extent that I'd struggle to see how it would differ in real life. We did this with another family, split between three locations. The challenge was a clever combination to stretch logic and reasoning. and our host pitched in with finely balanced steers only when absolutely required, and even then they were subtle. Some great humour added to the hour! Looking forward to doing the prequel due early 2021.

A very fun escape room and mystery! We ended up in a small group of 4 and made it out with a minute to spare, and the puzzle was well adjusted for the size of our group. The Agent leading the investigation was very entertaining and knew just the right subtle hints to give so we could solve the most difficult puzzles. Overall a wonderful interactive experience and would highly recommend!

We have completed a couple of escape rooms before in Adelaide, and was excited to see this touring one come for the Fringe.

It had some similar aspects (in terms of use of locks etc.) to other escape events we have completed but also some unique touches that we really enjoyed. I dont want to say too much, just go experience it for yourself and you will see :)

We also appreciated the level of care taken around hygiene amidst COVID 19. This was really reassuring at a time when we had started questioning our social outings.

Really enjoyed the experience. Agent Darling was able to hold our attention , keep us engaged and led the whole thing very well. We thoroughly enjoyed the experience. Right difficulty level as well.
We were able to socially distance as well throughout the game.

Had a fantastic time with agent November! He set something up for us at the last minute on a rainy day and it was a blast. The puzzles are engaging and a ton of fun. It was a great team-building exercise and I would definitely do it again next time I'm in London.

Our mission was to defuse the E.M.P device that Marty Orri forced Major X Ploe-Shun to build was can proudly say that we solved it with only seconds to spare! It was an outdoor afternoon of fun and excitement guided by the mysterious and delightful Agent Cerulean. A brilliant way to celebrate any occasion (ours was a Hen... whauheyyyy).
I shall definitely be back to save the world, again. Over. Agent Foxtrot

In London for a friend's hen do. We were accompanied by Agent Ninja who was a fantastic character. Thoroughly enjoyed this game, the clues were challenging enough to keep you on your toes but not so hard that you couldn't make any progress. A great way to spend an afternoon, especially if you enjoy problem solving and lateral thinking. Would definitely recommend.
