Neighborhood: Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Nice pub in Soho

Very nice pub with friendly staff and customers.
Reasonably priced and convenient place while shopping in Oxford Street.

How can you get pie and mash wrong.
Apr 2021 • Couples
We had the pie and mash. It had clearly just been microwaved leaving just the inside of the pie warm and the crust rubbery and inedible. The staff were indifferent to say the least when we pointed it out.
Don't bother.

Lovely Soho Pub...
Mar 2020 • Friends
We came here for a couple of drinks after visiting Ronnie Scott’s a couple of minutes away in Frith Street.

It was sadly fairly empty at 10pm on a Saturday night, we’ve been here before and it’s been absolutely rammed, this virus is going to send decent places to the wall.

Staff we’re friendly and the drinks good, they serve my favourite, Birra Moretti and there’s an excellent draught selection overall.

Staff were friendly and quick to serve despite being busy on a Saturday evening. And though downstairs was full, seating upstairs was available and hardly anyone was up there so we sat on a sofa and chatted with no loud music. Very clean and comfortable with tasty cold beer on tap and a calm cosy vibe 😊 (ps there is no ‘family adult’ category which is why I labelled this type of visit as friends)

The soul of soho

Incredibly friendly and fun staff! Has the feel of a proper British pub (with a soho twist), pie and mash, great beer, large group of locals and staff that where so fun to be around. Real magic:)

Conveniently close to the basement jazz venue opposite.
May 2019 • Friends
Experience improved by discovering the first rate basement jazz facility across the junction, so the appeal of Nellie Dean is that it’s moderately well sorted inside with screens for footie and occasionally rolling news, there is passable pubby snack food and the beer is OK, so if we are waiting to go over for jazz some lunchtimes or more usually evenings, the pub is a good place for a quick couple before or after. There are plenty of other places down Dean Street and on Old Compton Street, even beyond but ND is convenient.

Feb 2019 • Couples
Beer was much warmer compared to other beer we ordered but waiter insisted that it is not. Nice ambient otherwise but smelly.

nice pub, vibrant atmosphere
Dec 2018 • Friends
Popped in here after a night out in Covent Garden. Really busy pub but service was surprisingly fast. Good range of beers and everything seemed reasonably priced given the location. Only downside was some of the customers eating pizza (which they had bought across the road) next to us. Good place to have a drink whilst exlporing the area.

Hot day quick deink
Jun 2018 • Friends
A shame football was being displayed on every wall in this old fashioned pub where the staff were indifferent and the price of beer is horrendous. But what can you expect in the heart of Soho. Care going to the loo if you are over 4 feet tall as the ceiling is very low on the stairs. No outside seating on a hot day and the food looked very bog standard! We won’t be coming back!

Nice food and drinks but shocking customer service
Apr 2018 • Business
We came to Nellie Dean of Soho for drinks and dinner after work this week and unfortunately our evening with a nice meal and drinks was spoiled by an extremely rude manager. We had ordered dinner for the 7 of us, but one of the dishes was missing when the food came out and the manager claimed that we had never ordered it. This would be strange given that we wouldn't order a meal for everyone in the group and leave one person out. Instead of handling this politely, the manager was rude and dismissive. Really poor customer service at an otherwise nice pub with good food, this would put us off ever coming again.
