So much fun!
Nov 2019 • Solo
I haven't wielded a paintbrush since my art teacher at school openly scoffed at my amateur attempt.

I wish I tried something like this sooner! So much fun, easy instructions to follow, all the paint stuff provided, fab atmosphere with the other painters and hosts. Very cool playlist too!

We had a canvas to paint on with an easel, felt like a proper French artist :)

I can only compare myself with myself, but very proud of my first attempt.

Have already booked on another :))

📍Juju’s cafe, Birmingham

My husband and I always go out for dinner on a Friday night and this time I wish to plan something different and we have never done together before. And bingo I found this pop up painting’s class at Juju’s cafe🤩.

We had a great time last night. Both instructors are super friendly and always gives encouragement/compliments to everyone in the class. I think the concept of pop up painting is fabulous that you can enjoy the artistic moments in a very relaxing environment (with wine and beers in hands 🥂). We love the playlist too 🎵!

Thanks team for the great efforts and we will definitely come again!

Pop Up Painting - Brezzo Lounge, Cheadle, Greater Manchester
Sep 2019
We went as a group of 6 to celebrate my colleagues baby shower. We were part of a larger public Group of approx 20 all with mixed abilities and interests in art, wine, or just doing something social.

First we had dinner and drinks at Brezzo as we had come straight from work and these were great ( not in ticket price) but approx £10.99 for 3 tapas dishes and a glass of wine, for example. Food was quick, hot and tasted good, service was pleasant and I would def go back again to Brezzo lounge for a meal and or drinks.

We then went upstairs for the paint class - they sat us as a group of 6. All materials and aprons were provided ( plus wet wipes for any spills) and there were two instructors running the class, one sorting out paints, brushes, water the other showing the technique. The lady showing the technique also adjusted light and sound to help some of the group who couldn't quite hear at first or found the light too dim.

We painted a picture in the style of Van Gogh and were encouraged to give it our own spin - don't like sunflowers want to paint a rose or poppy or lily or your cat(s) at the center no problem ! Just do you. Want to recreate it as faithfully as possible and brought your own ruler and magnifying light? That's all good too.

We painted in two 45 minute bursts ( with a wine / loo / paint drying break in the middle) before taking our masterpieces home.

Our Group gave it the thumbs up and one of us at least is going to attend again for another picture in a different style.

Well run team event with great team feedback
Aug 2019
I booked, at short notice, a private team event for 16 people. The event was hosted in the Basement Bar, Leadenhall and was a “Collaborative Painting” event, with 2 people leading the session and supporting throughout. We divided into 4 teams of 4, and had previously chosen to paint a section of Kant’s “Tree of Life”. Each team needs to cooperate with each other, and the teams need to cooperate, to ensure that the final picture comes together successfully. After 2 hours, we had a great result, a very happy team, and an event that we will talk about for sometime to come. Certainly happy to recommend this as exceptionally good value for money.

Enjoyable evening, but expensive for what it is
Aug 2019 • Friends
Just think we could have been given a glass or two of cheap bubbly!! For the price...

I also didn’t particularly like the twist on the Van Gohh painting to include London instead but that’s personal preference! Also, I like compliments but not that I’m doing it ‘wrong’ ha ha

Hi Camilla, Thanks so much for joining us! Glad you found it an enjoyable evening. Thanks for your feedback re. the price. I believe the ticket price for the event you joined was c.£27.99 - which is in line with or below the price for similar experiences. We try to keep our prices as competitive as possible, and we have lots of hidden costs such as transport and artist fees to cover. When popping up in bars and restaurants our cost-per-drink is usually the same as for a usual member of the public, and so two glasses of prosecco would easily add £10 to our costs. I'm a little stumped by your comment about being told you were doing it 'wrong'. This is very much not our ethos or the sort of attitude we come across when we interview and hire. If you would be so kind as to get in touch with me at gareth@popuppainting.com I'd really like to look into this. I presume someone mis-spoke but it's not really what our company is about. Best wishes Gareth

PopUp Painting evening
Jul 2019 • Friends
This was such a good evening, lots of fun and a great experience. I will definitely be doing this again. The two guys leading the evening were amazing, so helpful, they explained everything so well and broke the painting down into simple steps. They were also funny, sweet and created a great atmosphere.

I would recommend everyone having a go at this, it was so much fun.

Paint Van Gogh event - Birmingham
May 2019 • Couples
We attend the above event and really enjoyed the evening. I've never painted and managed to produce a painting that had some resemblance! If felt a bit fast paced at times, however I can see why they have to get on otherwise we'd spend ridiculous amounts of time on one spot. The evening flew by, we didn't notice the time at all. There was enough direction. I'm obsessed with 'getting it right', but they really encourage you to do your own thing and its not about coping the picture its about getting something in the style.

Bad customer care
Mar 2019 • Couples
This was a Valentine’s day present for my partner and we were looking forward to it very much. but all our trains were cancelled due to the bad weather. There was no option to get there by car on time either, so we couldn’t attend the event.
We sent an email to explain it and asking if we could attend another day.
The answer was that we can’t do that as they were not able to resell our tickets. But we were planning to go, its not our fault that there were trees on the line and trains were not running to London. They say if we wouldve give them more notice... really? We sent the email from the train station, we couldn’t call as no number was provided. The restaurant where it was held was not answering the phone.
It is a lot of money that we lost now and to not to offer a different day is outrageous. They offered me 20% off if i book again out of good will... so spend even more money to attend... no thank you, good will would’ve been offering us a new date as the reason we couldn’t attend was out of our hand.
They saying that they are a small business and offer what they can. I think a small business needs to look after their customers better.
They saying they are providing resources in advance thats why they cant offer a new date. What resources? Canvases, brushes, paint and a glass of wine? They are still ghere unused arent they? So i guess we could go and collect them, as they were provided them for us, we have paid for them, so they are ours...

Not recommending them at all, very bad customer care.

Hi Peter, We received your email at 13.22 on the day of the event - 40 minutes before the start time. Our team were already on site setting up for the event. While I am sorry that you were inconvenienced by the trains, I think it is reasonable that businesses cannot offer full transfers or refunds with less than an hour's notice. We had committed resources - not just canvases and art supplies, but staffing (which is proportionate to guest numbers). If we had had even a few hours notice, we would have been able to resell the tickets and been able to flex on our cancellation policy. While I appreciate that this problem was not under your control, it also was not something under our control. We offered the 20% discount in good faith - and I think this is more than would have been offered by a cinema, theatre, or similar experiences. Where guests have had problems like this in the past we have found this has been generally accepted. I am also sorry that you felt the need to post a negative review on Facebook and TripAdvisor rather than reply to our email where we offered this 20%. Best wishes Gareth

PopUp Painting provide classes to teach people to paint but have fun at the same time.

They have a number of different classes throughout the year to paint a famous landscape say.

I went along and painted London Skyline which is work originally done by artist Rebecca Hunter. You'll get provided an easel, canvas and paint brushes to paint your masterpiece with. Plus on some classes a glass of prosecco will be provided.

It is most certainly a great way to have fun and a great alternate to a date night.

If you love art and painting then you will love this.
