Address
Neighborhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
How to get there
  • Green Park • 4 min walk
  • Piccadilly Circus • 5 min walk

So my wife bought a beautiful belt from the Jermyn street store and shortly after the Leather started to fray at the edges. For £250 pounds this was not acceptable so she went back and replaced it for me, lovely. The second belt, where the belt holes are, started to stretch again within months indicating an inferior cut of leather so she had to change it again. Unbelievably on the third belt, again within months, the buckle came off. I will state that each time I returned the belt it was clear that no misuse had happened and clearly a design fault. We were made to feel like it must of been us and the store refused to refund the belt. We were offered a store voucher. I didn’t see anything for a while and now with the recent sales I thought I would take advantage and asked for some sliders (which I did not really want but there was not much else) The price difference was £20, and regardless of living in South East London and it being an inconvenience as well as the travel cost of getting to the Dunhill store for the forth time, you would think for the stress inconvenience and the time this has taken it would have been a straight forward swap without paying the difference. The supervisor flatly refused.

As someone who has worn proudly Dunhill clothing for years and in fact wears a Dunhill Moonphase watch at £4.5k I will NOT be shopping with them again! I hope you feel the £20 was worth it.

Exceptional customer service

I walked into the store at 6.55pm asking to buy a lighter flint for the Rollagas vintage lighter I bought second hand for my husband. The staff were exceptional and went above and beyond required customer service. The gentleman fitted a flint free of charge and polished the lighter for me. The two ladies in the store were also charming and patient considering they were waiting to close up.

I've been talking about this back and forwards with Dunhill for 4 months now and nothing gets resolved. Slow processes and poor comms makes for a disastrous experience which at the premium price is unacceptable

Placed an on-line order, it was acceptable and never shipped. I chased 3 weeks later and they cancelled it.

Bad service
Jun 2016 • Family
A family member visiting the UK requested that I take him to the store because he was interested in purchasing some accessories and aftershave, as the full range is not available in his country.

He was looking to spend £300/£400; it seemed they were not interested in serving him when he enquired about different colours of scarves and asked about the aftershaves. When a regular customer walked in, the two sales staff ignored him and assisted their regular customer instead.

Begrudgingly they took my details and said I would be contacted when they had a particular aftershave in stock again; the family member gave up trying to purchase anything else. After a few months when I contacted them, that particular staff member said he did not have my details

I love this shop

Now you have to be interested in things like top class wallets and lighters, and if you are, this is a great little shop to browse. I have also had a key ring repaired here a couple of times and the first time they did it for free. My family indulge me whenever we are in the area, and it only takes 10 minutes to look around, after which we always seem to end up in Fortnum & Mason's.

Worst shopping experience ever!

Alfred Dunhill on Jermyn Steet would have to be the worst store ever. This would be my second visit and the service has not gotten any better. I don't know what else to say but if you are not going to spend at least £1000k they can't be bothered to help. Thus, I would say save your money; however, if you must buy something go to one of their concessions say in Harrods or Selfridges both have amazing service. Better yet go to the outlet in Bicester Village as that's where the £1000k suits end up at the end of the season - why give the guys at Jermny street the commission.
