First time confusion .... staff could have helped !!!
Sep 2021
Pool is great .... was busy when I was there - but can't complain about that .... it's London !

But ....... not everyone is a regular ........ and knows what to do - where to go ....

I drove into the car park .... thought I should have a ticket - but didn't .... couldn't see any signs.

I said to lady at reception that I hadn't been there before - but I didn't get any instructions on where to go ...
I said I didn't have a parking ticket - she gave me phone number of car park.
She wrote down the number wrong - but i have enough life experience to get person to read out the number and double check it - so that disaster was averted !

I swam - it was great.

Post swim ... came out ... walked all the way around to the car.
I thought attendant might have to come and help - and I didn't want them hanging around while I walked from Aquatic Centre to parking.

Got to car .... rang car park number.

He said 'don't need ticket' auto registration number photo .... just go to machine and pay.

I walked back to the machine.... it said £45 !!!!! I had only been in there an hour ....

Rang car park again .... he said go to machine inside the centre and it will calculate for the time you have been inside ....

I walked back around to the Aquatic Centre ......

I was laughing by now ..... but really ..... some signage for newbies would be great !
Or a trained / empathic reception person who could have helped ..... and saved me half an hour !!!

Great visit
Aug 2021 • Family
Fantastic time had by all. Changing rooms spotless and staff very helpful.
Warning if you are parking there make sure you use the machine in the lobby as the outside machine tried charging me £45.00 for 5 hours. I went inside and the staff let me use the machine inside which only charged me £10.00

Booked online for my 8 year old son and myself as I was unsure about the depth of water and his confidence. However I need not have bothered he spent the hour jumping in solo. The jackets are a great bonus even adults were wearing them.I think 1 hr is sufficient. It has two lanes the queues moved pretty quickly very clean with plenty of
bodyguards.
Online booking was not allowing me to get to the payment page wyen using membership barvodes so booked as non members

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!
Oct 2020 • Friends
Worst service ever! For a big swimming centre I would have expected more help. Emailed several times but no progress and assistant. Tried calling but couldn't get through to anyone and I even physically went to the centre and was given NO help. I left my number with a staff so that the manager could call me back but I have had no calls. How am I suppose to get a refund for the lessons I haven't taken since February!

Attitude
Sep 2020 • Solo
I had a really bad experience with a female staff I had booked online into the diving pool instead of the swimming pool as the app is not clear however there were plenty of spaces in the swimming pool, I had paid so I couldn’t see the problem. The female staff was incredibly rude and when I sent a email to their customer services which took 2 and a half weeks to reply because they could not find the email, yeah right. There response was a one liner just said they do do refunds. This kind of attitude is unbelievable for the sake of £5.00. My whole purpose was... your staff member was rude and there were spaces but I couldn’t go in .. why ??? What does a company like this hope to gain with this attitude.
They have little facilities to offer because of covid but the public still go, what a mean company.

Unhygienic, a paradox!
Aug 2020
Unfortunately, covid has made this place an absolute mess.
They don't let you shower before you get into the swimming pool, they say people should shower at home. What about the trip to the swimming pool? Where you come in contact with all sorts of people and sweat? Plus, even after you leave, you're not allowed to use soap/shampoo when you shower, and of course no hairdryers, so you have to go home dirty and wet shower again. Ridiculous!

SONNY HOSPITALITY
Aug 2020
I just have to give thanks & praise to such a lovely man called Sonny at the London Aquatic Centre yesterday Thursday 27 August 2020. We were so delighted that we had the chance to swim at this beautiful & iconic Olympic pool. It has been a dream for both of us to swim here - we had the utmost kindness and helpfulness from Sonny yesterday - he went all out to help us get logged in and booked in for our swim & we managed to swim over a mile too!. Sonny had a huge smile and brightened our day as hopefully we did likewise with lots of laughter too. We cannot thank you enough and you made our day Sonny - you brightened up our day like Sunshine in the rain as I am sure you brighten many people's day. Thank you again - Carole Clare & Judith - aka The Bike Angels of Basildon - our friend Judith came along to meet us and met Sonny too - she didn't want to swim but also witnessed the kindness and hospitality. Credit to Sonny another little Bucket List item ticked off our list.

Well organised swim for fitness
Aug 2020 • Solo
First visit since pandemic reopening, felt very safe. Well organised, booking new time slot system on app quick and easy, into the pool within moments. Wider lanes are great, overtaking is better for all. Plenty of staff around to guide. Great experience.

Amazing experience for swimmers
Mar 2020 • Family
Both of my teenage children took part in a swimming gala at the Olympic pool within the Aquatics centre. A great venue and a fantastic experience for them and their teammates from their club. Viewing was great for spectators and not too hot or crowded - although this was only a junior gala and may be a lot busier at major events.
The venue was clean and tidy and has obviously been well maintained since London 2012. Bag checks on entry but security staff were polite and not overbearing.
Only small fault was the size of the cafe which for a venue of this size seemed very small although I'm sure at major events there are some pop up kiosks to accommodate the bigger crowds.

Swimming in Olympic waters
Mar 2020
The fabulous Aquatic Centre which was seen the world over at the time of the London Olympics 2012, is a wonderful place for anyone to go for a swim. There's three pools (the main racing pool, the warm-up pool, and the diving pool). There's also a big gym and a cafe. As you might expect, changing facilities are first-class (and notably good for disabled swimmers), and staff are helpful and very friendly. It's a great experience to keep fit in such an iconic building.
