Address
Neighborhood: Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Fabulously camp night!

Sunday night drag show is a riot. Went during a weekend in London and had a blast. People were friendly, drinks reasonable for London and although it was packed out for the drag show it was great fun. Cosmic brought the house down with outrageously funny banter and songs, exactly what a proper entertaining drag show should do, we were roaring at some of the put downs.
Fab night and will always go when in London

#Joe Show!
Aug 2021
Went in for a quick drink and ended up staying around for a few hours to watch #Joe's show! He had such talent and class, and I will definitely be back next time he preforms

One drink and not a second
Jul 2021
We love to stop by here for a drink when we are in London, but it's not he place you can stay for more than one.

The staff are standoffish, cold and the bar and shelves for the drinks are sticky.

A nice little bit of history worth a visit to see the light fixture.

Don’t by drinks at last orders
Aug 2021 • Couples
Nice bar but bought drinks last night at 10.25 pm
1030pm doorman asked us to leave because they where closing
Lights came on and the staff became rube.
They should at least give people 15 -30 mins to finish there drinks

A tradition that should not be missed.

We obviously know of "The Admiral Duncan", and when wandering about Soho on a Summer’s afternoon, went in for a drink.

It was, as you might expect, very quiet during the afternoon, but it meant we could sit comfortably indoors and watch the world go by through the fully opened doors.

We went back the next day early evening and watched as the pub got busier and busier before the ‘turn’ came on which we stayed for and enjoyed.

This is a stalwart of the area that has to be visited when in Old Compton Street.

Dirty & Unfriendly 😡
Jun 2021 • Friends
I’m a regular visitor to London, I know it well having lived there and frequented ‘Admiral’ over many years.
My first visit with friends since Lockdown and we went here for our first Pint.

Well how rude, negative and ignorant this staff team currently are and even more sad was to find this bar dirty, smelly and looking so unloved both by the reception from the staff team and the unhygienic state of the bar, tables and the toilets were absolutely disgusting! (Even our first drinks we found the glasses dirty)
My friendship group left in disgust and disappointed that a once iconic bar has plummeted from such grace, splendour, fun atmosphere and friendly staff with such a rude unwelcoming negative attitude.
I’m extremely sad to be reporting this but from talking to friends of our findings it appears to be a mutual finding of how this bar has declined over the years!

So unfortunately it’s left to tourists who don’t know what great quality of gay bars there are in London who visit this as a ‘last chance saloon’

A very sad decline, I would avoid and frequent the array of clean friendly bars in Soho until I hope there’s a change of hygiene and unfriendly surly staff.

x 1 ⭐️ Just for its history.

Fun and friendly bar with good music
May 2021 • Solo
A safe, lively and fun bar in Soho who knows it’s customers well and also remembers it’s important history.
Very friendly staff who are always very welcoming and pleased to see you. Great music and regular entertainment and is a bright spot which compliments Compton’s and The Duke of Wellington. Well run by Karl who knows his stuff and so is highly recommended. Always worth a visit if it’s a quiet afternoon or a busier evening.

A gem of a gay pub in Soho
Jun 2021 • Friends
A fantastic pub in the heart of Soho with great drag acts and a really lively atmosphere. The bar staff are super friendly. I always look forward to visiting this gem of a pub and as soon as I walk in it brings a smile to my face. I missed it during lockdown and I am so happy it is back and survived. Highly recommend!
