Fun Pub

The Duke of Welly is a great place to go for a pint or drink. No attitude here, just a friendly, no frills bar where, in warm weather, you can take your drink outside.

From the states on holiday. This was a great pub we thought that was not pretentious in any way. Met many dudes that were friendly and talkative from London and also holiday. Thought the drinks were ok for the value and no complaints with the bar staff. A frequent visit over many other gay establishments in Soho.

Great pub with an amazing atmosphere. Wednesdays quiz is a good laugh and the staff knows what they are doing which is always a good sign.

This used to be a favourite bar for a Friday night drink with friends: not any more. I was denied entry last evening for " having had too much to drink" which was strange as I had been with a friend to The Yard for one (small) glass of wine when we decided to move on to the Welly. When... More

Poor service Fryer oil definitely needs to be changed Small portions Shame as it's quite a nice pub in a great location.....I'm sure the tourists love it and that's the base of the business.

I have been here dozens of times - my friends like it. People are drunk, belligerent, can barely stand up. People hold themselves up on walls, inebriated and often wanting to start arguments, or better inaudibly talk ceaselessly in your face, glasses are often being dropped as alcohol flies all over everyone. And it gets worse each time I go...

Hi Ken Smith. I'm sorry you feel that way. I don't think that is an accurate description of the Duke of Wellington. We adhere to strict rules concerning serving people who are too drunk, and I think if you were accurate in your story we would have no customers. However I apologise if you have had a bad experience in... More

Staying in Soho

Neighborhood Profile
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.
