London Wonderground

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
How to get there
  • Waterloo • 5 min walk
  • Embankment • 5 min walk

Good Bars and Food
Aug 2021
Visited on a Saturday Night in Aug. to attend the Comedy Club.
It was fairly quiet which was a shame. Good bars and food choice, all pop-up street food style.
Free to enter and use bars etc
Didn't do the rides so can't comment , but looked genuine fairground stuff.

Fab visit but expensive rides
Aug 2021 • Family
Amazing time at the show and the mini beach kept the kids entertained for a while. Food was delicious but the rides I couldn’t believe how much they were. Would come back again but avoid the rides next time.

Amazing theater experience! But the rides on the other hand...

Amazing theater experience! And the food Amazing but the rides are very over priced. 6 quid for the swing ride.... but the children absolutely loved it we watched the dinosaur world. The food is so good I would recommend the pizza 🍕.

Super fun summer location to see a show and grab a bite to eat! There are rides for little kids, but we didn't go on (so not sure of the price). There's a beach, plenty of places to sit and order food. We got Pabellon Venezuelan, which was incredibly good. Three of us shared a bowl and arepa (vegan!) and it was plenty to eat. The staff were very nice, too.

We saw Choir of Man, which was a really fun show. Covid-safety wise, it didn't feel safe because nobody was masked and we were indoors.

Disappointing show and prices for rides over priced!!! However food excellent.

Its okay, however not much there and its VERY pricey each ride. The sweet stall is a COMPLETE RIP off, so make sure you pick your sweets and not the guys as they put far to much in. Ours cost £22!!!!

Went to the 360 show which cost £85+ as paid for best chairs, to be dumped behind a pole. Only moved to the back when complained. No apology, just attitude as I dare to complain. Show was OK ish. 15 yo and 10yo not overly impressed. A £175 few hours!!!!!!

We happened to pass by this place when walking down Southbank away from the London Eye towards the Tower Bridge. Quite an interesting looking merry go round with 2 levels. The place was packed so we didn't ride on it but it did look fun.

London Wonderground
Dec 2019 • Family
Walking from National Theatre towards London Eye, we passed by Jubilee Gardens and saw a small playground there. They have a carousel and other rides for children. This place is called London Wonderground.

There are also street baskers performing magic and acrobatic stunts in the open space.

So expensive just for 2 minutes
Sep 2019 • Family
It was a disaster. We had to wait 15 minutes because they wanted to occupy all seats. Finally, we went up, and we were turning around the tower just for 2 minutes until it went down again.
What a waste of money (16 pounds fot 2 persons) and time!!

Disgusting Service, Waste of money ride!!
Aug 2019 • Friends
Just got off the ride and absolutely appalled! The staff in the ticket desk, one man in particular, wouldnt even look or talk to me as I tried to buy tickets, stuck his hand out for the money, and was busy rolling his eyes and running his mouth off to his collegues in another language while they all laughed. Absolute worst customer experience I have ever had!! The young boys putting us in the ride were just as bad, no greetings, and outrighly moaning about being there to each other, again completely ignoring us. Ride was just as bad, you got up in the sky, went aroumd 10 times MAX, and you were finished. Honestly lasted only a minute!! Terrible experience, the company should be absolutely ashamed of their customer service and business, as it is not good enough! Other disgruntled customers were walking off telling everyone around that it was a bore and a waste of money, and I most definetly agree! Disgusting!

Great Show
May 2019 • Friends
We went to see the show Little Death Club on Saturday at 7.15pm in the Spiegeltent. It’s a great cabaret show with contortionists & other great acts. It may only be an hour long but we loved it. Great atmosphere, music & really entertaining. Drinks aren’t too expensive, lovely area to drink in & we go there a lot.
