Top ways to experience nearby attractions

The area
Address
Neighborhood: Southbank
Big time attractions such as the London Eye and a thriving theatre scene (compliments of the National Theatre and the Young Vic) are but a few of the reasons that Southbank is such a collectively cherished part of town. With plenty of family friendly activities and venues lined up along a pedestrianized river bank between Westminster Bridge and Waterloo Bridge, visitors can always expect a casual and festive atmosphere. On top of all the fun stuff to do at Southbank is the opportunity to simply sit back and admire photo-op views of iconic landmarks like Parliament and St Paul's Cathedral, just on across the Thames.
How to get there
  • Waterloo • 5 min walk

Its okay, however not much there and its VERY pricey each ride. The sweet stall is a COMPLETE RIP off, so make sure you pick your sweets and not the guys as they put far to much in. Ours cost £22!!!!

Went to the 360 show which cost £85+ as paid for best chairs, to be dumped behind a pole. Only moved to the back when complained. No apology, just attitude as I dare to complain. Show was OK ish. 15 yo and 10yo not overly impressed. A £175 few hours!!!!!!

Visited on a Saturday Night in Aug. to attend the Comedy Club.
It was fairly quiet which was a shame. Good bars and food choice, all pop-up street food style.
Free to enter and use bars etc
Didn't do the rides so can't comment , but looked genuine fairground stuff.

We happened to pass by this place when walking down Southbank away from the London Eye towards the Tower Bridge. Quite an interesting looking merry go round with 2 levels. The place was packed so we didn't ride on it but it did look fun.

I love this place! If you visit later on an evening, it's busy but the atmosphere is fantastic. Wooden toadstool seats in a small grove with fairy lights in the trees? Yes please! You'll be hard pushed to get a seat but it's quite fun to just wander round and take everything in. There are a few fun attractions to check out and the food is good too. It's something different to do in and about Southbank if you're in the area.

So went on the star flyer ride next to the London Eye - awesome views of London and a different way of seeing the sights. Went at night. Would like to try in the day sometime. Would be better if a bit cheaper.

We paid £8 per person, and the ride lasted mere seconds... I think we counted a total of four revolutions up in the air.
Don't waste your money... rider beware.

Wow, £16 for two people for at most 45 seconds in the air?

I have travelled the world and am embarrassed as a Londoner that such an attraction exists to rip off visitors....

If you want to see London from above maybe book a Ryanair flight it maybe cheaper!

The company that own this should be embarrassed however I feel they won’t have time as they will be counting the cash they are raking in!

Great venue.I would recommend it to everybody.I have gone here since it opened and would encourage others to come.
Tonight was a different story. Was told by security to get out!!! .No forewarning.. Then another big bloke intimidated us and used his presence to ensure we leave.I understand there are rules and regulations but common courtesy and less thuggery should be used.I do not know where you employ your security but they are not enticing people to come back which is really not nice .The venue and bar staff are so professional but the security needs to be addressed ...

Decided to go on this ride last minute on a day out with my grown up daughter, we both live swings and the idea of the view was an added bonus, we were sat on our seats then trapped by the Perspex cover for the next 20 minuets while we waited for the ride to fill up, there were others sitting on the ride who had obviously been waiting longer!!!
Finally we took of, got to the top to see a most amazing view and within 2 minuets were back on the ground. My life long most underwhelming experience!!!

This is a review of the Starflyer ride within the park. Yes, cheap compared to the London Eye but still overpriced at £8. £4/£5 would be more like it. A very short ride, I estimate about a minute to a minute and a half...Up & down & around. Underwhelmed!...Not impressed with the attitude of the staff there either.
