Jack the Ripper Tour with 'Ripper-Vision' in London

1,260 reviews
Immerse yourself in Victorian London on this one-of-a-kind Jack the Ripper experience featuring RIPPER-VISION.™ Unlike other tours, your guide uses handheld projectors to accompany spine-chilling tales of the murders committed by Jack the Ripper in the 1800s. As you explore the dimly lit back streets of Whitechapel, images of Victorian London are projected onto buildings to guarantee a highly atmospheric experience. Plus, an evening departure time means you’ll experience London at its most mysterious.

It's an old fashioned street market that is now harking back to yesteryear. Mainly an eating venue nowadays.

My family were fruit and veg traders in Exmouth Market from Victorian times right through to the 1980s. There were 8 family businesses selling fruit and veg, plus wet fish stalls and poultry stalls, and a range of other businesses selling everything you could think of. In those days it served the community admirably: everyone from actors, to judges to housewives, and overseas visitors staying at the Mount Pleasant Hotel. Sadly too many people seem to think that the market only started with the area's gentrification; they are wrong.

I worked close to Exmouth Market back in the 60's, it was a bustling street market in those days mainly fruit and veg and it was the heart of the local community. Little has changed in that respect it is still the heart of the local community but the street fruit and veg stalls have been replaced by so many bars and restaurants catering for all tastes. It now has a vibrant and exciting night life as well as an interesting visit for lunch. Well worth a visit or two.

My daughter and son-in-law live close by this car free market street. While visiting with them in July, we had our apres morning walk coffee here. Lots of independent coffee shops, as well as a pret a manger. The street is lined with a few baked goods shops, a flower shop, and many restaurants, as well as a pub or two. On week days, food stalls serve all sorts of fare at a reasonable price. A great local shopping area with a feel good attitude. Closest underground stops are Angel and King's Cross. If you are in the area, look into it.

Great range of good street food at a reasonable price. Nice atmosphere and very friendly shop and stall staff. A little short on public seating and waste bins.
