I’m somebody who, despite reading bad reviews, will still visit an establishment in order to form an opinion for myself, which is what I did with Cowshed in Shoreditch House. I received a voucher for my birthday and decided to redeem it against the ‘ultimate Cowshed manicure.’ At a pricey £50 I was expecting at least shellac or gel but nope - just regular old polish with a very mediocre hand massage thrown in. The service was very average at best and by the time I had arrived home my nails were already chipped. I called Cowshed and they kindly offered a polish change free of charge the following day, fine, but I wouldn’t expect this to happen regardless. Especially not for the hefty sum of £50. I could have done the same service on myself at home, free of charge! The decor in the spa desperately needed some TLC, it was quite run down in my opinion and again detracted from the ‘up market spa experience.’ It’s anything but! I was also extremely puzzled that they refused me any refreshment due to ‘Covid regulations.’ Not even a glass of water! Use gloves when making the drinks or buy some take away cups at least. Many easy ways around it. It just comes across as lazy unfortunately. Sorry Cowshed but I won’t be returning!

I had a great signature facial here on Friday. The therapist was professional and efficient. There are social distancing measures in place and no teas and coffees and waiting around. This place is always scrupulously clean so there is no issue here. Although this is more expensive that a facial elsewhere, you get a full hour (and a bit extra) and it's very thorough and relaxing. I particularly like the extraction process and my face felt fresh and clean once finished. Highly recommended

I stopped by yesterday to buy some Christmas gifts. The two older ladies working on the tills were very much focused on their local clients and building up extra sales at the till. I noticed some of the sets that were in the window were not in the store. I approached two members of staff talking by the fridge area for help which seemed to annoy them. The pricing was confusing as the lists didn’t match the products on display next to it. To ask the price of anything seemed a big ordeal I left empty handed only to be shouted at by one of the till assistants that it was the last day of the discount. It’s a shame as I would have spent hundreds of pounds there as had my gifts to buy and was also planning on buying spa voucher. Given the feedback I have read today, I am so glad I didn’t bother. If I were the owner I would be seriously worried about the reviews on here and Google. The shop needs a major shake up!

I’m so disappointed with the service I’ve received at Cowshed Shoreditch. I’ve made this appointment 6 weeks ago as it suit me on Saturdays at a specific time.
They have cancelled my appointment the day of and now they can only help me in 3 months time. I find it a bit ridiculous that they can’t move other appointments to accommodate me. Don’t recommend going here

I booked a Cowshed signature facial with a gift voucher I received.
After a botched dermaplaning facial I had 8 weeks previous I was really nervous about how my skin would be after this facial as I had developed really troubled skin. Gabriella was a real life angel, she confirmed my worst nightmare, that I had developed acne following dermaplaning and a bad period of stress.
The facial that followed was unreal, so relaxing (minus the extraction) however this was essential for me.
Gabriella gave me the best advice as I was freaking out because I'm getting married in just over 3 months, I will be visiting Gabriella weekly until my wedding to get the best skin possible.
I couldn't recommend this woman enough, although I'm going through a really rough patch at the moment she really reassured me and I have 100% trust in her.
Yes it is pricey, but totally worth it

Love their products and buy them from their spas whenever I am in the UK. With COVID I haven't been able to travel and therefore replenish stock. I ordered a number of items 5 weeks ago. Never recived them. Sent multiple mails - no replies. I phoned them twice from Singapore - both times they said the matter was taken care of and I would receive them soon. Nothing got sent. Suggest you avoid them at this time. It would seem that they haven't got enough staffing at this time to cope. Extremely frustrating.

Visited Primrose Hill with my daughters for a birthday treat. Very disappointing which spoilt our day a bit. Worst massages my daughter and I have ever had although my other daughter enjoyed her facial. Very basic for the price and wouldn’t recommend much better out there. Manager couldn’t have been more disinterested if she’d tried when we spoke with her.

Went for a maternity massage which was extremely relaxing. The whole experience was explained to me and how it was safe for me and my baby. I ended up feeling a little dizzy at the end (I hadn’t esteem properly) and all staff were completely hands on and supportive. They made sure I had something to drink and eat, and a sit down, until I felt fully better and headed home. Amazing service and would definitely be back!

This spa/ salon has recently opened where 2 well liked primrose hill businesses (including a salon used to be) despite local protests at yet another chain on our high street a friend's recommendation of their notting hill branch and my sister's rapidly approaching birthday made me over come my fears. The cafe inside seemed busy and small for the numbers of people trying to eat ini it, but the food did look good.
Sadly this initial ok impression was completely taken away by one of the rudest staff I've ever had the bad luck to meet. I wanted to get a gift card for a pedicure go my sister, which would seem simple enough but the lady assistant was horrified I didn't know which of the 3 pedicure variations they offered my sister might want. I ended up young for the cow shed which seemed luxurious at an hour but not silly with the moisture wrap and 15 minutes extra of the next pedi up ( my patience for having my feet beautified is only so long and an hour's my limit). I then asked to book a waxing for my soft but this was too much we had to complete the pedicure order first. I handed over my card to pay and the assistant said it was declined. We tried it again and I held onto the machine which said no dial tone. She ran it a third time in front of her manager who then ran it on a different till and it went through, the supervisor apologised and said they were having IT problems.
I explained that perhaps next time they are having IT problems perhaps not announcing a customer's card has been declined ( when it hadn't their phone line was down) to the assembled customers would be appreciated.
The original assistant simply replied it was declined and offered to write my appointment times down. I told her not to bother as I was unlikely to return and I would leave it to my sister to make her own decision ,as I suspected by the long blurb I was given before buying the gift card- (valid for one year , can only be done for a monetary value , not a specific treatment and they keep no record of it so if you loose it tough! ) they wouldn't be refunding me my money.
Having spoken to other locals I gather the varnish lasts well, but the treatments are nothing special for the prices they charge and frankly if you have to go through customer service like that for a £48 pedicure I would definitely say it's poor value for money.
The assistant manager did call to apologise after I left , but it all seemed too little too late. I suspect won't be wasting my time there again

WARNING!!!!Manicure kit tools are not sterilised or disinfected!!!!! For the prices cowshed is charging it is absolutely ridiculous!!!!! Clearly after my manicure, mani lady put all the equipment back into the glass they have in a wooden little basket without even spraying it or disinfecting ( as it should be done). Before I left I saw another client taking my seat, and mani lady using the same mani kit on her !!!!! Shame on you Cowshed!!!!! ( nothing was disinfected neither mani scissors, cuticles pusher or any other equipment). Be aware, and the they offer this treatments for PREGNANT LADIES!!!! Shame on you Cowshed!
