Neighborhood: Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighborhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Dingy little hole but full on rock n fricken roll. You are not going to get luxury here but then when did we as metal heads care about that? Classic tunes on the JB and beer (no pumps) from a can or bottle and generally people enjoying Heavy Rock ... it's the law.

I’ve been frequenting the Crobar for a number of years now, and have watched the surrounding area go from a hub of rock and metal bars, into a lot of flats. this is one of the last remnants of these classic rock bars, and who knows how long it will last!

I love this place, definition of a dive bar. Metal on the jukebox playing all night (but you’d be lucky to get your tunes on with the backlog of requests). Always an eclectic mix of music from classic rock like Saxon, straight through to LoG & Gojira. If you’re a rock head, something you know & like will play.

Beers are standard price for central London, and you can order trooper 🤘🏽

I’ve had so many good nights here, and would give t 5 stars for personal preference, but for the sake of readers, two pitfalls to be aware of; it is very small inside and can get cramped, also the toilets are very small and the queue can build up.

The jukebox rules, and the staff is cool as could be. I was traveling alone and made friends immediately. If you like rock and metal, I could not recommend this more. They stay open later than most bars in the area, so that’s a bonus. They have amazing merch that isn’t overpriced, and neither are the drinks. I was In London for 6 nights and spent 4 of them there. It is small and it is super busy, so don’t expect some chill night out. Like I said, it’s a rock and metal bar. Cheers Soho, you rule.

I have been there many times. The only good thing is the music.
Door man asks for money to get in whenever he thinks you can pay. I have paid 2£, 3£, 4£ week days or weekends just to get in. Enough. Never again.
Drinks are expensive, average 6£. Toilets usually terrible and staff could be more professional.

This is a fantastic place if you like your rock music loud!! Always a friendly welcome. Good selection of beers and spirits accompanying a plethora of heavy rock classics on the dukebox.

I was specifically looking for a Metal or at least heavy music friendly bar while visiting London. The Crobar was recommended to me by a bartender at a different similarly themed locale. his words, "Look, you need to go see this place."
If I were to open a Metal friendly bar, I would hope it would be half as good as this one. It is snugly situated with no frills. Places to sit, good lighting to match the mood and feel of the music getting cranked on the Jukebox, and a broad beer selection makes it a great place to go and just absorb the mood and atmosphere. The Crobar is not a big place, so don't expect to get in with a crowd of 20 of your closest metalheads, but it is a delightful place. Another place I feel worth visiting anytime I find myself in London and thirsty for a drink and Metal, Punk, or Ska.

It's a pretty tiny bar but with a lot of character and good rock music. Sadly on of the few rock bars left in the area. Lively, fun and helpful staff, good music and drinks. Hope it keeps rocking for a long time ! I will definitely be back soon.

So most of Soho’s nightlife consists of shady clubs and somewhat annoying hipster hangouts, but the Crobar was none of the above. It is reminiscent of a good hard rock/metal club from years ago. The staff is friendly and although the atmosphere is niche or alternative, it is welcoming to all visitors. There is a vast array of characters among the patrons and the beer selection is eclectic and bountiful. The only demerit comes from the unsanitary and inconvenient nature of the bathrooms. The men’s room featured a prison style stainless steel toilet and there was no soap to be found at the sink. I will most likely visit this place again this weekend. Please check it out!
