About
Serving Mayfair for well over 200 years… The Red Lion has long known the importance of great tasting food and expertly stored drink. Pull up a chair after a day of shopping along Regent Street, or enjoy some street side socialising outdoors, and let us take care of the rest.

Neighborhood: St. James's
Perennially fashionable since the days of Henry VIII, the aristocratic “Clubland” of St James's is a premier destination for high end craft and bespoke design. Here you’ll lose count of the Royal Warrants (which indicate that the Royal Family patronizes the establishment) seen in shop front windows, even during a short stroll to bordering Green Park or St James’s Park. With the brightly lit and constantly buzzing junction of Piccadilly Circus at its northeast corner and none of Central London too far away, this is an surprisingly central and accessible part of town, especially given its prosperous demeanor.
How to get there
- Piccadilly Circus • 4 min walk

Met up with 14 old friends and the bar staff accommodated us in the back room. The bar staff and the beer was exceptional. Special shout-out to Milly, whose sense of humour and firm hand in the running of the pub helped make our day one to remember.

Untouched and unspoiled, and long may this be the case. The Red Lion is a super little find in Mayfair. Great beer and nice wine.

If you're looking for an authentic London pub experience, this is it. Simply put, this place is charming. My wife and I spent a couple of hours on a Saturday relaxing and enjoying a couple of pints, which were reasonably priced. And the fact that it's close to Piccadilly Circus and Jermyn St. for shopping is another plus.

the first time we were there (my husband & I), I wrote that we were very dissapointed about the cleaniless and the attitude of the lady working there who thought it was under her niveu to get a cloth and give our table a wipe, well low and behold! We were met with a smile and clean table, and stayed for a couple of glasses of wine. What a difference, that`s how it should be.

Surprisingly, there are not that many places to eat a restaurant meal near Parliament or Big Ben. I tried the upstairs of the Red Lion on my last trip and loved the food, despite fairly long waits -- but that indicates how popular the place is - however, to be fair, it is open for lunch from 12-5. People from all countries come to eat, so it's obviously well known.
But the best is the food. I had the best pub burger I've ever had in England, and could enjoy it in a peaceful setting. May sound over the top but it featured not only bacon but also a poached egg on top!

Awesome pub! small, but cozy. Andrea was able to get me, my wife and my daughter a table so we could enjoy fine food and ales. Definitely worth visiting.

Tucked around the back of Mayfair, just off the famous Jermyn Street, is the Red Lion. A genuine, old British pub. Very cosy with good service and decent array of drinks. Nice atmosphere. Can get busy on a Friday as the local office bods head there.

Built in 1821 and filled with glass that was commissioned thought to be be created by Walt Gibbs and sons of Blackfriars. It was a hidden gem in the middle of Mayfair in Central London before dinner. Good selection of English brews and a good variety of liquor for mixed drinks! A real step back in history. Plenty of seats inside and out and they serve full menu until 4pm and light snacks after! Stop in and just take in the beautiful etched glass while having a pint! (Or 2! 😎)
