Bully doorman
Nov 2021 • Couples
Such a rough venue, the doormen are bullies who work in packs, alone they couldn't knock over a granny. The venue should lose its licence even the artists are being attacked

Unsafe Venue - Violent Security
Nov 2021
Violent security verbally and physically assault performers makes this an Unsafe venue. Do better Scala and replace your neanderthal security with people who understand the job.

Worst club ever
Jul 2021 • Friends
Turned up at scala and cost £10 to even get in. Drinks are overpriced and there’s only one bar which got way too busy. The DJ was possibly the worst DJ I’ve have ever seen in my entire life. The songs weren’t great but when a good one was played he wouldn’t keep it on for more than 30seconds, turning them off just as they were about to get good. He would talk over the songs and shout at people in the crowd which was just annoying. The crowd was making mosh pits and pushing people over which was ridiculous. Felt like I was in a year 7 disco.

Amazing Venue n Music
Oct 2019
Large club with an amazing dance floor and crazy hip music. A night to remember and the crowd was amazing. Be prepared to be buried in hip hot music and dance the night away. Friendly staff.

Lovely venue
Nov 2019
Went here to see the rose, had an amazing night.
Small venue but then your not far from the stage.
Sound was excellent.
Staff were lovely, even gave us an umbrella to stay dry waiting outside as it was raining,

Great Central London Venue
Oct 2019
Two if us went to see The Dream Syndicate here last week and had an excellent time - great venue (if a little 'intimate' or compact), lets the audience get really close to the performers. Sound quality very good, little echo, pretty attractive building itself (an old cinema), too. And within 4 minutes' walk from King's Cross St Pancras! But, don't take any food or liquids, as the Security is pretty strict.

Intimate venue
Sep 2019 • Friends
We really enjoyed the venue. Sound was great, atmosphere was awesome and the bands played some tunes.

Nice. Staff were friendly and didn't take long to get a beer or two. Beer selection was good. Roughly £6.50 a pint/can.

Cloakroom staff is amazing
Jul 2019
A few weeks ago me and my friends went to the reaggeton night and had so much fun.
The highlight of the place is definitely a guy called Million who works in the cloakroom. He is so funny and talkative, gave us good recommendations on where to go next.

Great for gigs
May 2019 • Couples
Went here to see Primal Scream. I was concerned about security after reading previous reviews but we had no problems with that - they were a bit more stern than some other venues but otherwise no worse than anywhere else. As a gig venue this is excellent - there are balconies around the edge where you can get great views and as the size is small you don't feel as though you are seeing ants playing on the stage! Drinks prices are similar to other venues. Would not hesitate to return.

Rude security
May 2019 • Friends
Security team is scary, the way they talk to people seems like they are looking for trouble. Good venue but it's unlikely that I would come back
