Beautiful location , then back drop is stunning , a little on the expensive side but what do you expect for London ! The skates they provided could have been a bit nicer they were torn and ripped in places . And as we arrived we were greeted by the rudest security guy I have ever encountered , who just... More

Booking online is essential, as is printing out the tickets. This was well managed and skaters of all ages and abilities looked like they enjoyed themselves. It is surrounded by beautiful neoclassical architecture, which encourages you to visit one or more of the exhibitions inside. Toilets were spotless. Great to bring kids here.

Visited here for the opening press night and what a great night. Having not ice skated for a number of years and despite the rain, I had a great time. Very festive and food and drink were divine with a lot of choice. My favourite being the hot dog stand. I had a about 3 hot chocolates, purely because they... More

My friend and I went here to take our kids ice skating just after New Year. Having previously skated at the ice rink by the London Eye as this was a similar price I booked this for a change. The setting is beautiful - we went mid-morning and it was a perfect winters day with the sun coming up over... More

We visited on New Years Eve - the whole experience was fantastic. A great atmosphere, really well organised, the venu wasn't over crowded and staffed well - a really fun and well managed night.

Having never skated before and for someone with dodgy knees, I somewhat hesitantly accepted the wife's suggestion to take our young son skating. Its a great location of course and well setup, even if it is a sort of production line to get people through for the hour session. On the ice it was fun to eventually make a few... More

Glad we arrived early & missed the queues for boots, got onto the rink on time & had great fun. After about half an hour it starts to get a bit slushy & bumpy which for a novice is a tad daunting. There are also too many people linking arms 3 or 4 abreast which when they murge with another... More

Two adults and three kids. It's never going to be an easy adventure. The kids area is great with the two youngest (three years) almost getting it and able to support themselves with the polar bears. As the youngest got tired very quickly we were constantly told not to lift the kids over the barrier so they could rest. A... More

The rink fits into the Somerset House courtyard rather well under the large Christmas tree. Next to it are a string of "Pop Up" Harrods sales rooms of the Christmas kind.

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
