Winter fun ice skating. Great venue

A busy lively ice rink in the grounds of Somerset House in the heart of London. Great fun for young and old. A good sized rink and places to have refreshments before or after.

Great venue to watch or take part in the skating, good service offered in Tom's Terrace for a drink after. Helpful staff and ample seating to sit and watch the skating.

I love coming to the Somerset House all year round, but especially at Christmas. It's a lovely atmosphere! A few tips from me would be to book your tickets online way in advance, it does tend to sell out quickly! And, the ice rink is fairly small, so you'll only be on there for an hour or so.

I came here with my partner in the afternoon and it was perfect. Quiet on the ice and not overly crammed which for me as a once a year ice skater was great. It was reasonably priced and an hour was more than enough time. Lots of things around to keep entertained and fed if needed.

Was there with 2 children aged 8 and 5. My 5 year old can skate a bit but does fall over. They have a small learning section which was great and one instructor took time to give her some help. A great location for skating and all the staff from the people checking tickets to the stewards were great and... More

We arrived at Somerset House on Saturday in late November around 5pm and tried to get some tickets for the ice skating and they were SOLD OUT! What a big disappointment, especially for our son who was really looking forward to it.

This was super romantic and even though I'm not a skater I enjoyed it here. The rink isn't massive, but I found it big enough! Went with my boyfriend on a December night and it was really festive and the back drop created a romantic feel.

Visited in December for the opening of the Skate ice rink. Lovely setting for xmas time. Somerset house is just a great place to relax & take it all in. The ice rink does get busy but as to be expected during this period. Would 100% go again. What Christmas is all about. Skate!

Must do festive experience! What a beautiful setting, large ice rank set in the middle of most the picturesque Somerset House. The Christmas tree is an impressive size too. Me and my friends will be definitely back for another visit. Reasonably priced too

We visite Somerset House before Christmas and really enjoyed the experience of the Fortnum and Mason Christmas Lodge and shop and also watching people ice skating. We stopped for lunch in the Lodge and this was lovely - we had a big mug of hot chocolate with flavoured marshmallow and welsh rarebit toasties. It was lovely to wrap up warm... More

Staying in Trafalgar Square / Embankment

Neighborhood Profile
Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.
