Address
Neighborhood: Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighborhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.

walked in & didn’t say hello to the owner/head chef (?) as i had headphones on & didn’t hear his greeting. was followed, called “pathetic” & “not normal”, & chased out of the pub after this old man got all up in my face & intimidated me (a 5’3”, 21-year-old girl). staff here are verbally abusive - please avoid this place at all costs. they do not deserve your business.

This is a lovely looking pub not far from our office, which for some reason doesn't get very busy so was chosen as a venue for a leaving do for one of our colleagues recently. Initial reception from the manager from the moment i enquired about a booking there was borderline rude and ungrateful for our business, and this treatment continued during our time there (and afterwards, when they told us they'd 'lost' the leaving present that was held for us in their back room). There may have been a change of management but my advice for now is to give someone else your money as customer service is truly lacking at this place.

Best pub and beer in the area. A little bit off the main street but worth the walk for good beer and friendly people.

Fairly generic faux local pub, mismatched furniture etc - perfectly decent for a pint or a coffee, though not tried food.
Mainly Fullers beer and little choice of cask ale on the night I was there.
'Craft ale' was another Fullers, though perfectly decent

Having lived in the area for a number of years and often visit this place regularly it's such a breath of fresh air that they finally have Manager and staff that actually know what they are doing.
Bar snacks are on daily after after 5pm which is excellent idea, you still have the option of the second level Restaurant.
A number of times I have visited and there were more staff than customers, not a good for business.
I did tell myself 6 months ago I would never ever bother with this place again, if you felt like I did then give this place a go again, gone is the place that thought it was fine dining that was no better than a Gastro pub, Saturdays it's still closed but is for hire as I've past it a few times and it's full. Sundays Roast is great but I'm still waiting for a TV to round off a great venue.
I'm already planning my Birthday bash there.
Always great
