We went here tonight for a few drinks and a bit of dinner, the pub has had a little bit of a facelift over lockdown and is looking refreshed. This is the first time we’ve eaten here but the food was great and very well presented. I had a massive piece of fish and chips followed by apple crumble and ice cream. My friend had chicken goujons and chips followed by a Belgian truffle mousse and ice cream and we were well and truly stuffed. The food was great value and definately worth going back to once my stomach deflates from the accessive beer intake.

After spending a truly depressing day at St George's Hospital, we finally managed to escape at around 9pm and passed this place on the way back to the station. We ordered drinks and being well nigh starving, we flicked through the menu. Pub grub can be a hit and miss affair but I needn't have worried. The wife ordered ribs and chips and I settled for Lincolnshire sausages and mash figuring it wouldn't upset the old blood pressure any more. We both agreed it was all lovely and great value. The only minor gripe was my Scotch. They only had Jack Daniels or Glenfiddich and some fairly upmarket scotch. This was a bit odd as Teachers, Bells and the rest of the rank and file whiskies are available everywhere generally.
