Awful place with cheesy music
Aug 2019 • Friends
We booked a table here after looking at the website which appears to show a chic cocktail bar with funky DJ’s playing at the weekends. The reality is a damp smelling basement with filthy toilets and the worst music I’ve ever heard! Cheese and more cheese..it was embarrassing

Ok cocktails (if you can get one) , terrible everything else

Would be a 1 star but the cocktails they do make are pretty good, correctly strengthed and with good ingredients. Getting one at peak rush, however, was near impossible. I was told on three occasions that I couldn't order any cocktails because the bar was busy. I was in there for over half an hour before I was allowed to order one. When they finally accepted an order, half of the cocktails on the menu weren't actually available.

We had booked a booth for a friend's birthday and preordered some champagne. They didn't even have the specific brand ordered, despite telling them before the day what was required. Table service was promised but never happened. The venue is underground, and the basement booth walls are wet and stink of damp and mould. The sound system is very bad.

Despite this it was rammed and there was a queue to get in when we left.

Wasted opportunity
Feb 2019 • Friends
Great place, great music and great idea but fell down badly. Booked a table but they didn’t have a booking. I showed them the confirmation. The guy walked around came back and said sorry no tables except someone might be leaving in half hour ...... he walked away and we stood at the bar for 15 minutes but obviously no chance of getting served.

Only two staff and only one making cocktails which, given they are made to order, no way could he do it all. Empty glasses everywhere and looked awful.

We left and went to Caravan in the next street which was fabulous and had great service.

Hope it improves as a great opportunity but not going to work unless they make improvements

Awful - rude. Arrogant. Incompetent

My friend booked a table for her birthday. It seems it is quite common for the manager to change the booking to suit himself. Changed from 15 to 10 (I have seen other reviews say the same). He then wouldn’t let the rest of the party in because they were ‘full’. Waiting outside for over an hour. the entire party eventually left because of this. Went to a beautiful bar down the road which is much better. My advice, don’t bother.

Didn’t know It existed, hidden under a restaurant it is a classic cavern bar. Cocktails excellent, which is not always the case in a cocktail bar. We were here on a Thursday night and live music was playing and he was outstanding, very enjoyable, definitely worth a visit

Slightly disappointing

Had reserved an area for at least 15 people and was given a booth that can seat 8. They then said their notes only said a reservation for 10. Which contradicted my email from them. Service was slow only 2 people serving at the bar which in a cocktail bar on a busy night is nowhere near enough. I asked to order food but was only told the night before you had to order it 3 days in advance. I called them and left a message and also emailed them asking them to call me. They didn’t. They just emailed me back saying to order by email. So it was their loss as they missed out on a good order. Cocktails are nice so there is something positive. The cost is no different to most London cocktail bars. The hand dryer in the (the only one) didn’t work. So not particularly hygienic. Good atmosphere though and good music

Classic basement bar
Apr 2017
This classic basement bar often has great live music, weird (in the best way possible!) clients, great informal atmosphere (you can even make a dance with the owner), good cocktails, very friendly and professional staff. Hidden basement gem in posh neighbourhood, where you can escape from the poshness. FGreat interior, like you go back in time. Cozy corners to sneak away with your date, dirty dancefloor to rock with your friends, good bar to pick up something (a drink of course and a chat with the awesome personnel )

We’ve been here a few times with work colleagues and it’s a very average cocktail bar. Service is always friendly but I don’t think they have outstanding drinks.

Don't get there before 9pm
Oct 2017
We arrived just after 6pm on Saturday and it was very very quiet! Do not get there early. We could not wait until 9pm (when the music starts apparently) as we was bored.

One round of drinks cost £91 for 6 of us girls so it was quite pricey! The booths are nice so definitely book one if you are planning a night here.

I am sure this bar could be a lot more fun if you are arriving later on in the night :)

I liked the interior, very bohemic. Singer was good, but sound was a bit too loud. The worst thing was when we waited to be served for about 15 min, even though the bar is small, it was busy that time. When we finally received our Spicy daikiri cocktails, sage leaf on the top was a bit faded and the cocktail had a weird taste.
