We came across this little gem when out and about in Islington. The traditional outside appearance continues inside whit lots of mahogany and cosy atmosphere. We decided on having some wine as they had nice selection and cheese board which came lovely presented. Service was great too! Professional and friendly which made our visit even better. We will definitely come back here soon.

Popped in for a few beer with a friend Friday afternoon. Really friendly and attentive staff. Beautiful old and atmospheric pub. Will defiantly return next time in in the area.

Always busy, with some yummy chef‘s special on the blackboard. The staff is friendly and accommodating. We‘ve eaten here several times including a Sunday roast - the food was always superb.

We were at the Kings Head last night for a play which started at 7pm, so wanted to eat before hand having read so many positive reviews of their food.
We arrived just before 6pm, and tried to order 2 cheese and hand toasties, only to be told that they'd not be ready in time to see the play. So in short, two toasties would take over an hour to make....
The bar staff was unapologetic and could not have been any less helpful.
In the end we left the pub and crossed the road to get something to eat, and arrived in plenty of time to see the play.

I saw The Secret Garden at the King's Head theatre long time ago and I thought The Secret Garden show was brilliant because I thought Jordan Lee Davies was brilliant as Dickon and Martin Dickinson was amazing with his character Dr Neville Craven. It was amazing and the songs were really good and Martin Dickinson did a grand job staying within his character and the voice and the way he acted it really well. It was a great show.

Nice place to grab a beer and sit outside. Great people watching on Upper Street. Interesting atmosphere inside. Very relaxed.

A surprising experience. A pint after work and an opera (The Magic Flute) delivered by an outstanding cast of professional singers. The pub is cramped but so are most London pubs after work hours. A pint of Young's allows one to blend into the fun. The theater proper is at the back of the pub and it is small. Completely sold out performance. It was warm inside and one feels it. Altogether a terrific and authentic London experience.

We only visited for a drink and so did not experience the live evening music, food or theatre experience. It is a typical London pub with a reasonable selection of beers and a wooden floor. Service was fine although we had to wait to get seats. It remains to be seen whether it becomes lively when the live music starts but I suspect so!

Despite only being a mile from the Emirates, this venue appears more popular with rugby fans rather than football ones. However, for those seeking a decent pint, or a trip to one of London's more historic theatres, this venue will prove worthwhile.
