I visited the therapy rooms for a massage
Jun 2021
I was very excited for my first professional massage ever and since I paid 70 pounds for an hour I was pretty sure it was going to be an amazing experience. But I was wrong. In the email it stated to arrive at least 10 mins before the treatment if it's my first time to fill up all the form. So I did. But only ended up waiting for the therapist to come pick me up at the exact time that the session was supposed to start. We went to the therapy room and she gave me 3 sheets of paper to fill out. Filling all these + discussing my allergies and health + undressing and getting ready took about 15 mins. The massage itself was pleasant but she ended it 5 mins before the session was supposed to finish. So instead of a 60min massage that I paid for, I got 40 mins. massage. I didn't pay 70 pounds so the therapist can sit there watching me filling up forms which I could have easily done in the waiting room when I arrived. That is just unacceptable. I did send an email the next day talking about my experience and it took them almost two weeks to get back to me. Only trying to argue with me that on their website it says to arrive 5 mins early and not 10. I can't believe I actually had to send them a screenshot of what is stated on their email. I was offered a free product but since I came for a treatment that is just not what I'm interested in. So I'm very disappointed and will definitely never visit again. What a waste of money.

Treasure trove of health and wellness products
Feb 2020 • Solo
This is very much a Covent Garden institution for those dedicated to all things wellness, organic and vegan. The shop on one side of Neal’s Yard sells beauty and healthcare products, while the other premises across the yard are the location for a wide range of courses. It’s a must see, but the prices are not for the budget/conscious.

highly (over-) priced but 100% organic
Oct 2019
This pharmacy-beauty-store has been running for decades and it's well perceptible because of its blue bottles.
The prices are in the upper region, though.

Essential for Essentials
Mar 2019 • Couples
When in Neil’s yard if you need any essential oils then this is the place to go with the staff knowing exactly what they sell and what you want - they know their stuff!

My favourite place in London !
Feb 2019 • Solo
I love this company for the high quality of the products, the courses they give and the friendly staff !

I have done 2 workshops so far: one to create my room spray for Christmas and one to take care of my hands. I’ve also done a very nice and intense Introduction to Aromatherapy Course.
This course was amazing. I learnt so much about essentials oils, their properties, how to use them ...
I also learnt how to make my own massage oil and how to give a basic hand massage.
The teacher Victoria is full of good energy, good vibes and she can reply to your questions easily and show you if need.

The area is so magical with all theses colours, boutiques, restaurant and Coffee shop and it feels like is the Neal’s Yard square ahah !

If you like aromatherapy, essentials oils, natural beauty products, and even more, this shop is for you !
Don’t forget all the courses they provide as well because it is really worth it!

Next time I would like to try one therapy (aromatherapy massage for example !)

I would highly recommend this company and of course the shop in Covent garden !

Top of the range customer service at Upper Street
Nov 2018 • Solo
I went to Neal's Yard on Upper Street to get some advice on their anti-aging product range. I was served by Melissa, who was full of knowledge, friendly and has a wonderful way with the customers.

Great products
Nov 2017 • Couples
I have read a lot of other complaints about the customer service. We found it to be adequate. Not bad, but nothing to write home about. They had a great selection of products we were looking for.

Lovely shop, atrocious customer service
Aug 2017 • Solo
Love the products and they're cheaper to purchase here than in Australia which is great. However, this does not in any way make up for the fact that their customer service does not exist. I was not acknowledged the whole time I was in the store (despite it not being busy) and when I asked a question and purchased something it was blatantly clear to the staff that I was a complete inconvenience and waste of their time. Honestly, the person at the counter looked like she was serving a ghost. Absolutely atrocious and it has turned me off the brand. Would it kill this person to attempt a half-smile? Actually, probably.

Nice products, poor customer service.
Dec 2016
I actually like a few of their products--the Wild Rose Beauty Balm is amazing, they have a nice frankincense perfume. Others are really overpriced (their body washes) and/or ineffective (face washes).

But this isn't a review for the products; everyone has their preference, after all. No, it's for the store.

Yes, Neal's Yard itself is adorable, and the Neal's Yard Remedies shop is tiny, quaint, and smells amazing. The problem is that it comes in two settings: completely empty (three people at the tills, bored, and two overly-zealous people on the tiny floor, desperately hoping you want help with something rather than leaving you to browse) or so full you can't actually physically turn around, much less grab a product off the shelf.

Also, the past few months I've noticed a distinct turnover in the staff with more new people brought on board who aren't particularly knowledgeable with the products and who are fairly dismissive. Sorry guys, but at this price point? You need to be spot-on with your customer service.

I spent over £200 on gifts for my mum-in-law's birthday and while they put two tiny foil samples of cream into her box, I got no samples for me. Wow, really? Come on. I also came in for another gift for my grandmother, and got no samples at all. It seems like a new policy: they used to give out samples very consistently, and that's how I discovered a couple of their products that I wouldn't have otherwise tried and that you can't really try in store (like their face masque).

Both times, the complimentary gift wrapping was a serious joke, and in this, I'm not even being picky: it took over 15 minutes each time to wrap flat square boxes, and both looked like they'd been wrapped by a 3-year-old. Lumpy, tape all over the place, what even. Don't offer a service if you haven't trained your staff to at least not be completely useless at it.

The basic gist is that I like a couple of their products, but there are other alternatives, and you can also buy their stuff in a lot of other places. The flagship store has had its day and isn't worth the hassle.

PS- The reason you guys like the taste of the free herbal tea so much is because they put a ton of sugar in it when they make it in the airpots. :/ Sorry, trufax.
