The pretty architectural folly that is Portmeirion Village is NOT in London; not even England, for that matter! It is in North Wales and is, indeed, well worth a visit.

The London incarnation of the name is a business selling good quality ceramics for the kitchen and table. The popular designs all feature attractive allusions to nature, with colourful flowers, butterflies etc.

These products make great gifts.

If you go early the tide is out and you can watch it come in. The architecture is beautiful and colourful and gardens are glorious. Have never seen so many hydrangeas. The cafe's are good and there's plenty to spend your money on. I had lunch there which was really nice and did a bush walk. It's a beautiful place to go. I stayed in Penrhyndeudraeth at Ferlas B&B which is a beautiful place with a magnificent view. The hosts are so lovely and would recommend them. Penrhyndeudraeth is walking distance from Portmeirion.

Portmeirion Village, ornate, architecture unique transports you to an idyllic setting that is part myth and the beauty of the place is that its on the Wales map. Takes around three hours to explore the village and shops, private beach and forest walks. One of the top 100 tourist attractions in the U.K. And of the two top tourist attractions in Wales which is Snowdonia and the Brecon Beacons.

Absolutely beautiful but a little surreal!
Stunning views, good restaurant. Thoroughly recommend the sharing platter and glass of wine for two for £25 at Caffi Glas.

Can probably spend a good few hours here. If you liked "The Prisoner" you can join the tour each day and buy gifts at their shop.
Hop on the train for a 10 minute tour, this is included in the price of the ticket.

It was a sunny day and we visited the village with friends. It was busy with tourists but very pretty. The most memorable element for me was the walk around the bay seeing the river estuary and the views across to the nearby seaside villages and beach. This was truly beautiful
