The area
Neighborhood: Trafalgar Square / Embankment
With its iconic Nelson’s Column, majestic oversized lions and brightly-lit fountains, Trafalgar Square is not just considered the heart of this bustling London hub, but the very core of the city itself. Beyond this esteemed gathering place are more famous icons, as well as a disproportionate numbers of the city’s most popular cultural attractions including the National Gallery and many West End theaters. Along the way to these major sites are quiet lanes and antiquated pubs to discover, as well as riverside vistas to enjoy on the embankment. With a calendar full of celebratory events, any time of year is a fine time to visit.

I was taken by friends to see La Boheme, sung in English at the players theatre under the arches at charing cross. we started off with supper in the the Players kitchen, incredibly good value at £12 for 2 courses. Had the terrine of ham hock which was chunky and came with their own spiced plum chutney followed by griddled chicken breast with cider sage and onion sauce , bubble and squeak and roast carrots. A large portion, well cooked, and very tasty. Loved the opera, especially when .... but I don't want to spoil it for you. My only criticism of this evening was that the female lead who was supposed to be dying of consumption has yet to start wasting away, but then who would with those hearty portions of such good food!

Been here several times as a guest and always thoroughly enjoy it. Act, often famous, come here to perform in this small theatre. True variety!!

Excellent atmosphere in the bar and great for post show drinks. Lively show tunes being belted out by the pianist on the grand piano, what is not to love about this?

Not the place if you want something swankier but good for fun.

The small restaurant area is tagged on at the end of the bar. Frankly, it is not very inspiring. But the food was surprisingly good. We had Prawn cocktail (haven't had one for ages!) and a delicious Ham Hock salad - the portions are fairly small. This was followed by Korean Lamb and a steak They were both so good we carried on and for pudding had Roasted Peaches and Lemon Brulee. Every dish was either good or very good.

Thoroughly recommended - except for the ambience.

they saying with every laughter one adds one day to one's life,....watching the One Man, Two Guvnors adds easily a year to your life! I must admit it is hilarious , exceptionally humorous , beautifully acted and in all something to be seen,...!
What a joy it was!
Rufus Hound is the super star of the show and he certainly earned my total admiration. The rest of the casts are also worth mentioning= All Brilliant.

This place is so lovely. It has a personality of its own, the theatre has some great shows. I especially love the restaurant and bar, their prices are modest, for quality food and wines, if your watching your purse stings instead of champaign , they offer a good quality prosecco . It's opened till late, great live music. And atmosphere is always good. Staff are lovely. Guaranteed a fabulous night out.
