A beautiful theatre building, a stage where many of todays stars have set foot. The interiors are carefully kept and maintained, which adds to the overall experience. In addition, the company seems to always keep up a high level of artistry. Wonderful!

Having seen the movie a few times I was looking forward to seeing how it worked as a musical. I needn't have worried as the show was brilliant and the songs by Tim Minchin are wonderful. My wife and I had a really good evening and would recommend the show to anyone with a good sense of humour and a... More

This was an entertaining musical that follows the plot of the classic movie. It was a first-rate production and we really enjoyed it. We can see how this production is going to New York next year. My only criticism was that it was a bit redundant....but that was the point, wasn't it? I highly recommend. It was a two-minute walk... More

Attended the Old Vic to see "Groundhog Day", the musical. The show itself was amazing, but it was a great setting to see the show in. Originally built in the early 1800's, the theatre itself is almost another character in the show. Pictures of Olivier and McKellan grace the walls, representative of a tiny slice of theatrical history. The theatre... More

We saw Groundhog day which was OK but this threatre has lousy cooling. The seats are uncomfortable for my average 5'10" legs which were jammed in the seat in front. We debating leaving halfway because it was too hot and uncomfortable. The halftime icecream was full of ice crystals like it had been partially defrosted. Disappointing night out all in... More

I attended the very first preview performance of the new musical "Groundhog Day." It was my first visit to the Old Vic and I was struck by the warm and caring attitude of the staff as well as the relative comfort of the seats compared to some of the theatres in the West End. There are occasional narrow pillars that... More

Saw this Brilliant musical adaptation of Bill Murray film as even better than the original. Original lyrics and music directed and staged by a master. Entire ensemble is wonderful. Scenery, and modern technology enhance this fine original musical. Looked sold out to me and should be. The Old Vic has done it again! Humor, music and humanity merged so well... More

I have seen 3 very different productions at the Old Vic and each has been amazing. The latest one was Jeckyl & Hyde and like Nastasha in her review I didn't realise that it was a modern ballet/dance production as the tickets were bought for me (many thanks Meena) and I hadn’t read the reviews. What an enjoyable surprise that... More

I, like many others, adore the Old Vic theatre. It's the perfect venue for the mesmeric production of Jekyll & Hyde, which works perfectly here. If you've not see the dance production I'd beg, steal or borrow to get tickets. I didn't even realise it was a dance production, I just bought tickets, but from the moment I sat down... More

Hello, Thank you for your review of The Old Vic Theatre, and in particular our recent dance production of Jekyll & Hyde. Matthew Warchus, our Artistic Director, was really keen to reintroduce dance to The Old Vic's stage, with Drew McOnie, of The McOnie Company, and Kate Prince, of ZooNation, both being appointed as Associate Artists of the theatre. It... More

The Old Vic is well away from 'theatreland', situated on the south side of the River Thames, close to Waterloo station. It is a lovely old building, both inside and out and the auditorium is quite small, giving an intimate feel. We saw 'The Caretaker' with Timothy Spall - an excellent performance and a thoroughly enjoyable evening out.

Hello, Thank you for your review of The Old Vic Theatre. It is so lovely to hear that you enjoyed our production of The Caretaker, and that you like our building and auditorium; which has been here since 1818. We hope that we will be able to welcome you back to the theatre again soon. All the best, Katy More
