My London theater week began unlikely place, Islington. The Almeida theater is a beautiful space, ably directed and impressively star-studded. By going at 10:30 AM, I was able to get day tickets to Richard III with none other than Ralph Fiennes and Vanessa Redgrave. It was a wonderful evening and a very strong production.

Back row of the circle great view as its a small theatre still close to the action. lovely foyer nice ice cream very cultured feel to the theatre. The seats did not have a great deal of leg room but E19 and E20 had slight more than E18 or E17.

Just returned from abroad and just off chance called the theatre at 10.30am for any tickets. I was told that people are still queuing outside and to call back after 11.30. So I did, and I managed to get hold of a restricted view ticket J20. To my delight the theatre is small and cosy. So there is a pretty... More

The Almeida is a delight. Tiny intimate theatre that is renowned for its innovative programming. We saw Ralf Fiennes tonight in a fantastic performance. A great visit; a wonderful evening. The food in the bar was a little disappointing but otherwise perfectly.

In north London, about 10 minutes on the tube from the bright lights this place is a little gem of a theatre. Tiny by West End standards, it seats about 300 on two levels, and mainly puts on fairly serious plays (we went to see a Shakespeare) you are very close to the acting area and almost feel part of... This was my first visit to the Almeida. Of course Ralph Fiennes was mesmerising with more than a hint of Voldemort in his characterisation. Vanessa Redgrave brought a very unique interpretation to Queen Margaret. The theatre itself was an intimate venue a bit like some of the fringe venues at the Edinburgh Festival. The loos were clean, queues short and... More

.. as well as stellar performances by Aislin McGuckin and Finbar Lynch. The small theatre is just lovely and was perfect for this production. I was fortunate that the sole ticket remaining for this show was E23 in the stalls -- a little to the side and not full view of centre stage but within touching distance of the actors... More

Friendly box office staff got me a day ticket for what they said was an obstructed view seat, but which was wonderful due to the small size of the theatre. Making a trip away from the West End can be its own reward.

I was here recently to watch the latest production of Richard III. A beautiful and perfect theatre. I am sure what ever you watched here it would be brilliant. Love these intimate venues. Make sure you watch something here, you won't be disappointed. Friendly staff too. Thanks.
