More Modern Musical Theatre in the "West End"
One of many, many musical theatres in London's "West End", currently occupied by the spectacular Meatloaf musical "Bat out of Hell". And it's relatively modern. You walk down three flights of stairs to reach the lower level from which to enter the stalls. Of course there's a bar, and a souvenir shop. None of this is different from any other musical theatres in London, but there's a bit more space (and more comfortable seating) than in many of the older venues in the city. You can take your drink with you when intermissions end. Don't know what else to say, really. Oh, and the Hercules Pillars is a good pub close by for to hang out after the show.

    A Lovely Theatre
A beautiful theatre just 5 minutes walk from Holborn underground station. Beautiful interior, lovely bar area and a very impressive auditorium. Not too large and the seats can be a little cramped as the rows are quite close together but just enough room without having to stretch your legs. We were in the back row in the centre but perfect views of the stage, cheapest tickets bought but have no complaints. A very enjoyable experience

    The friendliest theatre staff ever!
What a beautiful experience from the Snowman to Message in a Bottle to more recently the Rocky Horror Show. The staff really make this experience so enjoyable. They are so kind and go above and beyond always. We are now going to make a more deliberate attempt to see performances here. Keep up the fantastic work! ❤️

    Great little Theatre.
Went to see Rocky Horror Show at the Peacock Theatre. Nice Theatre on the smaller side, and nicely kept clean and tidy. Large bar space, with plenty of seating, and the staff were very friendly. The only downside was the stall for merchandise was at the landing turn on the main stairwell, so caused some congestion with people trying to go down the stairs and people queuing or browsing the wares.

    Love this theatre
I have seen several shows at this theatre - the ticket prices for the West End are very reasonable here and the shows a little different. Tonight my husband and I saw Malevo - an excellent dance show! Seats good, great atmosphere, theatre good for communication about tickets, ordering drinks etc. Will be back.

    The Snowman
Went to see The Snowman, a brilliant show yet again. Well worth the money. Only disappoint was the lack of snow at the end of the show. Two years a go there was loads, this year and last year very poor.

    Don't expect snow
This is a lovely, family friendly Christmas show - very charming and sweet (mostly). The stalls seats were great especially row J where we were as it has a bit more space in front which is helpful if you have kids coats or bags etc. There was a constant sound of crisp and sweet packets rustling which was mildly irritating but the scenery, dancing and music were so joyful that I soon forgot about that. There was a tiny bit of snow at the end which was really disappointing as I went a few years ago and there was loads of snow then which made for a magical ending. I thought the snow machine was broken. Also, the snowman costume looked like Michael Myers, and Jack Frost was turned into some sort of creepy groper but apart from that it was overall a great show.

    A fabulous dancing experience
An amazing show and as I know Brodie Donougher from his time as Billy Elliot he is a fabulous dancer, as are the rest of the cast. A Sadlers Wells production so a great standard. The young boy I saw was excellent too. Sadly no programme so not sure who the whole cast were but a great show, well done everyone, such great enthusiasm and dancing ability.

    The Snowman
We decided to take a trip to London with our granddaughter for a change this Christmas and The Snowman seemed a good choice. The theatre was a short walk from Holborn tube station. The theatre itself is quite small and intimate. We sat in the stalls and the view of the stage was good (booster cushion was £3 for the granddaughter). The show itself was wonderful and mesmerising for my granddaughter. It was a good length and the storyline was close enough to the book and film that she was able to recognise it. Refreshments and merchandise were priced as expected. The only downside for me was the inability of some people to control their unruly children. I know it is a children’s performance but kids constantly making noise, jumping around and on occasion being a hazard in the aisles makes for a poorer experience for those who wish to appreciate the performers. We had to move seats in the interval to get away from it. Staff were clearly aware and did nothing. Despite this the show was thoroughly enjoyed by our family.

Dec 2022
Went to see The Snowman in December 2022 and whilst I found the theatre comfortable and the staff friendly and polite I was disappointed by the theatre's phone policy. There's an announcement at the start asking for no videoing or photography yet several parents got their phones out to film the show and/or their children throughout the performance which was really distracting.

I had a look for the theatre staff but they were all stood at the back so I couldn't get their attention and I didn't want to get up and miss anymore of the show. So the parents were just allowed to have their bright phones out videoing away for most of the show.

It had been so annoying I emailed the theatre after the show and got a response which basically said 'sorry you were disappointed but it's a family friendly show therefore more relaxed so we won't tell people to put their phones away'. Being family friendly surely doesn't mean you can just do what you want to the detriment of other viewers?

The response has put me off going back which is a shame as the production was amazing and other than that the theatre is decent.

Great theatre, amazing friendly staff, especially the man operating the disabled lift; he couldn't of been more friendly and helpful. We saw Message in a bottle and it was absolutely brilliant, great choreography, amazing dancers and good story. If your into great iconic music and contemporary dance, then this is the show for you. I was surprised by the mix in the audience, from school children to pensioners, all of whom appeared to thoroughly enjoy the show.

As will become quite apparent, I am not a theatre critic, but I felt I had to put this comment here. My partner and I went to the Peacock Theatre this week to see a production of 'The Snowman'. This was our first visit to this theatre and it was a brilliant experience. The doors opened right on time and we were greeted by friendly staff who welcomed us and showed us where we could sit and rest, or where to get a drink before the auditorium opened. The theatre is quite small but well appointed. The bar is very nice and we were able to find seats and a table without difficulty. As an aside I must give special praise to one of the security staff who made a great friend of a small boy outside the theatre who looked a little nervous. The security guard had the little fellow laughing in no time and he then came in eagerly with his folks. We found our seats easily, they are very clearly marked, and settled down to await the start. We were in the centre of Row G and found this to be a great place to be. Just the right distance from the stage to see, and hear everything perfectly. The show itself is quite magnificent. The players gave a great show and we thoroughly enjoyed it. We were particularly impressed with the confidence of the young lad who took the part of James, the main human character, and the skills of The Snowman himself. This was one of the most enjoyable shows we have seen in quite some time and a real credit to the cast, choreographers, musicians and production team. Also, I must say I was impressed with how well the audience behaved. No-one took any photographs during the performance, there was no unruly or boisterous behaviour which meant everyone was able to sit back and enjoy the evening. There were, as you would expect, a lot of children in the audience and they loved it. Cheering the good guys and waving enthusiastically at the heroes, James and the Snowman, at every opportunity. The sets were clever and all in all we had a great evening. Unfortunately the show only runs at The Peacock until the 30th of December but I would make two recommendation here; see The Snowman if you can but definitely pay a visit to this jewel of a theatre. By the way, these were the only photographs I took and they were not taken during the performance itself.

Went to see Message in a Bottle and was absolutely blown away with the fantastic show! We didn't want it to end. Wish I had known about this show earlier as I would have seen it again with family. If you get a chance to see this show you must! The theatre is lovely and small enough that even the seats at the back gave great views. The only downside was as usual, not enough ladies toilets so the queue is huge and only two people serving at the bar so that was a very long wait also. But the theatre itself was fabulous.

The worst experience ever on 01/11/2023. Abused from one of the employee and followed the same by the manager Francesca Padovani. We try to resolved the situation with the manager but we were ashamed by her in front of all the audience in Peacock theatre by accusing us,me and my child, that we were lying. It was horrible to witness, watch and listen to the manager repeating that me and my child were lying. I hope that there was camera to witness this. But when the manager was talking to us and the whole situation was downstairs in front of the dress circle room entrance where no camera are available to record the employee and the manager rudeness towards me and my child.
My child has to witness all sorts of lies and abuse from the manager.
I am a member of the theatre and come here regularly monthly but this is the first time to experience anything like this at this theatre or any theatre. We missed 1/3 of the show because of the employee not following protocol and procedures and being rude to us when we raised the issue. There is few more shows I have already booked by the end of this year but I am not feeling comfortable and my daughter too to visit the theatre after that. This horrible incident has left big impact on my daughter mentally.

I went with my three grandchildren & daughter to watch The Snowman. The layout of the peacock theatre has changed for the worse & and it's a shame. On each floor, there were tables you could purchase items & cause problems for the public trying to get up or down the stairway, as it got too packed. But the Snowman was truly a flop for me in not keeping with the book. The storyline had been changed so much. For instance, it turned into a love story between the Snowman & and Ballarina, which the kids never got!! And when Jack Frost came in as a rival & I just wanted to leave!! No way was the story being told...... between a boy & his Snowman showing the warmth, meaningful & magic friendship portrayed. They have killed the magic of this delightful story by the dreadful storyline. Whoever made this storyline up its shams!! The storyline was more about the Snowman & Ballarina!! Not about the boy & his Snowman. It killed it for me & the children. Staff give out misinformation about taking your drinks into the theatre. Overpriced for what you paid for the tickets. Especially if it's your child's favourite story to be done so poorly. Sorry, I cannot share photos because of copy right.

Glad we’ve seen it and it made a change to see something with little dialogue and singing. The music is fab and the miming actions completely tell the story but some scenes were a little prolonged. The flying scenes needed more background animation/action especially when they came back from the interval still flying! This is a children’s show so expect a lot of noise and rustling from the audience. The strangest thing was not knowing when to applaud - it’s usually obvious but started very slowly! Overall a nice little show and we only paid £15 plus travel.
