Home to the vast majority of embassies and diplomatic residences in London, sophisticated and upscale Belgravia also boasts a wealth of luxury hotels, fine dining restaurants, and some of the city’s most stroll worthy lanes. While the prices here are high, taking a leisurely stroll through the streets of picturesque and elegant white stucco houses is free. Hyde Park and the Buckingham Palace Gardens are only a stone's throw away to the north, and some of Europe’s best shopping is nearby as well.

Great evening
Sep 2021
We were looking for a casual meal near our hotel and stumbled upon The Star Tavern literally minutes away, down a private little lane. So glad we did ! The attentive staff made us feel very welcome, the food was delicious and, for a Wednesday early evening, the place was buzzing with happy, sociable customers. We felt very comfortable there. Thank you to the staff for a lovely evening. Thoroughly recommend.

As we hadn’t seen each other for many years we wanted somewhere with atmosphere but quiet so you could chat, good and wine, excellent service and great location! the Star has it all! Oh and we needed dog and kid friendly and it was! The only thing missing, a little lights background music!

Perfect traditional pub in quiet location
Jul 2019 • Couples
Came across this pub by accident, looking for a lunch spot. It is in a lovely quiet mews and has some historic connections which others have mentioned. It hit the spot perfectly. Run by Fullers, it had a good choice of ales and craft beers and we enjoyed an excellent lunch, and the food was great. The menu is fairly traditional pub fayre, with lunchtime sandwiches. We had a chicken club and Brie& cranberry. Both were tasty.
The pub was quiet for a July lunchtime, but that suited us perfectly. Service was excellent, very friendly staff.

Great beer and really friendly staff. Tucked away in a busy area but 100% old British pub. Oki and team are a credit to Fullers

Lunch visit
Dec 2018
Really disappointed. I booked in advance and particularly, as I am a coeliac, it was very clear I must have a gluten free meal. After all my other friends had been served I was told the gluten free sausages hadn’t arrived. To say alternative options were limited would be an understatement. I was given one option which arrived long after everyone else had been served and finished their meal and not in the ‘super quick’ time I was promised. We also had to constantly ask for cutlery - even for a spoon for the coffee. I asked for hot milk with my coffee and got a jug of ice cold milk. In fairness they waived the cost of my lunch but I would have been happy to pay for what I pre-ordered. My judgement is really poor and little interest in customers - just feed them and move them on. Might have a smart address but not a smart attitude. The front of house staff were pleasant enough.

A hidden find
Nov 2018 • Friends
This is a hidden classic pub in a posh buildings part of London. It's off the beaten track but that's great because it takes you away from the crowds. We popped in for a pint ... and had three! That's normal right? My friend and I perched aside the bar and the bar staff were really professional and chatty with us. We didn't eat but saw some delicious food waft by. The staff went to great efforts to translate the menu for some Spanish visitors. Spotted Dick it was, it was an interesting moment to witness. It's a pub of historical interest, lots of stuff on the walls to tell you why, and had been in CAMRA's good beer guide for 45 years! A great place to visit.

Best pub in London

The Star, Belgravia is beyond perfect.
We’ve been going there sporadically for 40 years and it is thankfully unchanged.
The staff (inviting, experienced & friendly) clientele ( all sorts, but no riff-raff please ), beer ( Fuller’s, the peerless ale), food and ambience are beyond compare.
It has a colourful history; see photo.
Thankfully it’s hidden away and you’ll likely never find it even with Google maps and that way it will still be perfect in 40 years time

Popped in for a pint of Fullers
Jan 2018 • Solo
Hidden gem for anyone wanting a good well kept pint of E.S.B. I searched Fullers Pubs near me while in Chelsea this is a 26 min walk from the old town hall, and worth every step. The new manager Ollie was knowledgeable about his beer and the history of Fullers and the Pub.This is a traditional pub with hand pumps and craft beer and larger and a good selection of bottles.I didn't eat so this is the only reason for four not five stars. However this will not be my last visit, the next time I am in London I will make this my destination pub for a warm welcome and good Fullers beer.
