Good swimming pool, the general facilities need a review and "refresh"
Jul 2017
I recently re-joined this Sports Centre on a an "off-peak" swim membership only, as I'm fortunate enough to be able to benefit from a corporate membership which is partly discounted. I originally joined over ten years ago on a personal membership basis, when the Sports Centre had just been totally re-furbished. Below are my observations based on my most recent usage: - poor signage, the Centre could place a few directions signs/maps on the lower level in particular, denoting where the swimming pool is and where the exit to reception is from basement level. - cramped womens changing rooms. - no choice of locker sizes in the womens wet changing room, only small lockers. - pin-number operated lockers which tend to lock out users - why not replace with a more traditional and reliable key fob system? - cheap plastic curtains instead of proper solid doors to the womens private changing cubicles. - no shelves in the shower area for putting shower gel, etc - one private shower cubicle only, again with a cheap plastic curtain which tends to swing towards the water when the shower is on and stick to a wet body - unhygienic and a nuisance. - Jacuzzi and sauna are now broken again, having only just been fixed - and when things get broken here, I have found they tend to stay broken for long periods. - as from July, the centre is reducing its opening hours at some "off-peak" times - so, please can the savings being made in doing this either be passed on to the members, i.e. by reducing the membership fees, or by implanting a few basic improvements to the facilities? - private membership fees very high, I was quoted £125 per month before I was able to benefit from a corporate membership due to changing jobs. - overall facilities need to be better to be able to compare favourably with the local competition in terms of pricing, such as Chelsea/Kensington Sports Centres and more recently, the newly opened Harbour Club in Kensington. - the corporate "Branding" is confusing - sometimes calling itself "Ethos", other times "Imperial Sports Centre". On the plus side, the good things about this Centre as I see them: - friendly and helpful staff. - super-clean swimming pool, not overly chlorinated and a good size (25 Metres). - good location.

Neighborhood: Knightsbridge
When millions of tourists want to shop 'til they drop, they do it along Brompton Road and its boutique-lined tributaries, including the world-renowned Harrods. And when millionaires want to flaunt what they've already got, many of them find Knightsbridge and Belgravia the perfect place to do so, often behind stately mansion walls or down quiet private mews. Delve beyond the ultra-luxe exterior and you'll find some of this city's cosiest pubs, quiet gardens, and all sorts of indie retailers and enterprises worth a short exercise in spontaneous window shopping. For those looking to take a break from shopping, Hyde Park, Kensington Gardens, and some of the city's most popular museums are nearby.

Best swimming school for school age children in London
Feb 2017 • Family
FastFins swimming school which runs a 7 level swimming programme at The Imperial College Ethos Pool is the best swimming school in London bar none. We have been attending classes here for 5 years and even though we moved to Harrow about 18 months ago we still venture into town twice a week to take classes here.

The quality is in the teaching and the technical they teach the children are exceptional.

If you venture out if central London you will definitely find better facilities but I have never been able to find instruction even close to what they offer,

Nice facility in central London
Aug 2016 • Solo
I have used the sports centre at Imperial College several times as my husband and I are members and he is an alumni. We regularly use the facilities to go for a swim here. We find that the rates although high, do allow us to use sports facilities in central London and it is easy to get in and out of here. Really well maintained and would love to visit over and over again.

Lovely facility
Aug 2016
We stayed at Imperial College Halls and had use of the sports centre. Lovely pool, sauna and steam room. Ideal after a busy day of sightseeing. There are other facilities which we did not use.
